Mike - first week back at work after the Christmas holidays is always a bit quiet so it's been fun to catch up with your journeys this year, first class as always.

It was nice reading about the trip to France, my wife and I (before the kids came along) had a great touring holiday in that region. I really liked the Auverge and Ardeche area as well.

In one of your photos you comment on the riders of Vespa in the photos as Idiots. Generally states do not grant driving licenses to the infirmed. Vespas are fine forms of transportation with a very strong following from people in every country world wide. States have licensed them for the roads in every country including your own. This forum has many who own them. I do not own one.I suspect that those people rideing the vespas may be fine people enjoying an adventure on two wheels much like yourself. there is much about your report that is admrable.

You misquote me. I refer to them as lunatics - this is used as affectionate term. This is generally understood by people who aren't taking themselves too seriously.
