Switzerland pass opening dates

I am leaving for Interlaken from Frankfurt in a few days and was wondering anyone has been up to any of the passes recently in Switzerland. I was on a site that listed the current conditions but I cannot find it anymore. But I was more interested in real data rather than a website.

This site http://www.alpineroads.com/passes.php has some info but nothing really solid to go on as far as I can see.

Late May/early June - all of the major passes should be open, barring new storms.

Smaller passes, like the Praegel & Acherli may still be observing winter.

La Tremola (the old Gotthard Pass road) is iffy. The cobbles are fragile and they don't plow it.

Expect snow on the Neufenen, but the road should be open (late June, 2004):

I've heard this is a reliable site but, I don't have first hand knowledge. Where are you headed, I might see you there.

It looks about right, based on my experience.

Thanks for the help. I am playing it all by ear. I plan to stay in lauterbrunnen by the waterfall for a few days then head through Austria to fussen for another few days. The passes I and roads I plan is really just going to be all spur the moment, whatever looks good

Hah! My avatar pic was taken just up the valley a bit from there.

Just relaxing? It's not a place that I'd choose to stay multiple days on a riding vacation.

There's a bit of snow coming down last few days still in higher altitudes, pass-situation dons't look too bad, though the "big ones" are closed still or AGAIN.
This is the site to check:
http://www.tcs.ch/de/auto-mobilitaet...uelle-lage.php

Closed still is:
Pass Col du Sanetsch
Ächerlipass
Susten-Pass
Pass Pragel
San Bernardino
Furka
Grimsel
Nufenen
Forcla di Livigno
Gr, St. Bernhard

"The Ice Man" has just paid us a visit. Significant snow at higher altitudes. It was chaos in the Tirol a couple of days ago with The Brenner Pass closed.

The high passes generally don't open until the end of May/begining of June anyway. The Großglockner and Nockalmstraße are exceptions, opening on May 1st as usual but have had some temporary closures due to snowfall.

I like this page at the beginning and end of the season:

http://alpen-paesse.ch/

The situation is not really very good yet. I don't like to go in the early days of the season for a pass because then everyone is out and about - including the cops. Not that they would find any wrongdoing with me.

At the time of writing Stelvio, Gavia and Timmelsjoch are shown as closed.

Web Cam shows a lot of snow on the north east ramp of Stelvio.

Stick it in Google Chrome for a reasonable translation.

Being Italy, "Closed" can be somewhat flexible.

Looking at their webcams (look at the "Ore 12:00" image)

The top is pretty much open for business, but the snow piled up in the background on the Trafoi side indicates that this side is still closed.

So - you can get up & back from Bormio without problems, and the Umbrail MAY be open. Things can vary hour by hour at this time of year.
