Yea sold it a few weeks back, 1st to see it bought it, just what he wanted with the big tank etc. He was heading up the Flinders a few days after..told him the bike will know the way around...also sold the XT250 1st to see bought it as well.
Still got the 2 Triumphs & a new TT-R250 lighter than the XR & electric start, missing the power & sorry to see it go, never let me down in 6 odd years.

Cheers Terry

I still miss my XR400R, I really wished I had kept it as a 2nd bike for the more enduro orientated rides & also my Club s/track rides..

The sparks and wildfire frown on motorcycles in their forrest. But I have heard of guys finding ways around the locked gates, with mud on the number plates to remain anonomous. There are dedicated campsites. Chalkys camp is off Warren Rd. ( WE go to Vic to ride in the forrests )

Great looking bike by the way, I've always been a bit taken with white bikes too.

Was hoping there might've been other tracks to ride without having to get past a locked gate first. Looks like there's a pretty big area around Mt Crawford but if its all controlled by the forestry guys I guess we should find somewhere else to go. Would prefer to ride in Victoria somewhere but with a brother on the Yorke Peninsula and one in Adelaide, we wouldn't mind somewhere in between to catch up.

While we were up the Flinders in April the wife said why don't you sell the XT & XR then buy a new bike...my mates TTR went everywhere the XR did but without the wheelspin so I bought one $5999 on road with a 2 yr warranty. Going to turn 60 next Jan & wanted a bike easier on my body.
Here she is, before I rode it I fitted hand guards, enduro mirrors,b&B bash plate, Staintune pipe.

Nice ride, have you checked out Big Dog's web site, he's set one of these up for some seriously comfortable long distance touring & has done some great trips.
Food for thought ADV riding

We went for a drive yesterday to look for whales. And to check out a track for a ride. It runs through a conservation park beside Lincoln NP and is an open track. But there was a sign saying no bikes with a symbol also for 4wds being ok. Wtf? We are going to ride there anyway. That's discrimination to allow one road reg vehicle and not another. They do that now on some islands back home. Crock of shit imo. The track runs beside Sleaford mere and down to the coast and Wanna sand dunes. Nice rocky bits and lovely scenery.

I'll have a look Brett, this thing is very smooth on the fast gravel roads compaired to the XR & no wheel spin (note no power) but it does feel light. Can't wait to get it up the Flinders for a ride

They get a good report, not a high maintenance item either, the XR400R was good 23700kms when I sold it & the engine was untouched. Mind you one of my Triumph's is on 48800kms & the other is on 21000kms untouched & going strong as well

My Tiger has ticked over 101,000 kms & still sweat to ride, no mechanical issues to date. Only required its first shim on the valve adjustment at 80,000kms! The tripple formula is tried & tested, no reason to think the new 800 motor won't be better still.

Grow up Pbee

They say that if you don't grow up before you hit 60 , then you don't have to. It looks as if PBee will just make it.

I did a shed rationalization program too and went back to one sensible bike ( DRZ400) on which I have broken my leg, foot and ribs to date.

Only 9 months to go for me until the next zero birthday.

I live vicariously now, watching Kipo blast the racing course on "my" Yamaha.

Such is life. I wonder if we can hot up Gophers?
