I hear it is a tad warm to ride at the moment down under.

Went for a drive in the country yesterday, lovely heated seats & single malt in the drinks cabinet.

I know I am mad, this was yesterdays temp

Damn it's been too cold to ride

Kiplings cakes are delightful just like their namesake and they sell grog in the supermarkets I'm in heaven

Take care guys

Heya Kym, Happy Old Years Day mate. Have they broken out the haggis for ye yet? That snow looks bloody wonderful. It's 2.20 a.m. here and still 29 degrees C in my little home. Wanna swap? Have a good one and catch you for a slide night at the pub maybe when you get home.

Have a good New Year Kym,

You can't stay there until March, you've got to lead us through to Morgan for another big day out, sometime in Jan. Just stop thinking of yourself and remember that there are others you should be taking into account...selfish bastard

Just had the most adventurous ride I think I will ever have a couple of weeks ago & not a single photo to show. Ride only lasted 15 minutes & left me thinking WTF did I do that for. Made the mistake of catching a moto (approx 100 to 125cc motorbike/scooter taxi) in Bangkok the other week. Imagine a huge street party for the kings birthday, chaotic traffic everywhere, no road rules,
no helmet or protective clothing, moto zigging & zagging, ducking & diving & weaving everywhere, going through spaces in traffic that didn't exist & me on the back having had a beer or two too many & praying (if I was religious) to the deity to live through this ordeal. Now thats an adventure ride!

Happy New Year Kym and Irena, looks great. You should hire a motorbike though, if you survive you would be an expert on clay
Not so good here, traffic control at a fire in the hills for the wicked (never say it cant get any hotter)

Cheers Tony

Thanks guys & Happy New Years to all.

We were planning to head down to the local Mash Tun for "Homanay" new years eve, but now won't be able to get there due to the snow.

We are stranded in a lovely warm house stocked full of single malts of all varieties from the local "whisky trail", plus a huge amount of local Scottish beer, all nicely chilled, strangely. Consequently no rush to get out, sorry Trev. Could even be 'til early May they say, but then drastic action will have to be considered so as to not miss this years "Flinders Classic III" ...................... but then again ........... sip!.....sip! .....sip! ...... aahhh!

The house is situated in a valley in the Milltown of Edinvillie Scotland with a questionable steep snow covered 300 metre single track back up the hill to the main road, which in turn has a couple of very sharp, steep, slippery hairpin bends before opening out to the black ice sections on the main road to Aberlour, & I thought mud was fun

Not looking good for my little frontwheel drive Ford "fuckass" Focus

Heat wave coming though, with a forcasted max climbing to -3C better go now as another pure single malt or two is calling me.

Stay safe and no breaking into my "Champagne Beer" while I'm away.

Ride this Sunday

Hey there Master B you may be stuck in that place for months!

Well if there are any survivors from New Year celebrations, I'm going for a ride Sunday, (cool change is in now), a newbe is comming along as well so will be casual easy going. Just some dirt roads out to Gawler Sedan etc. May get some single track here and there. (My DRZ needs an outing)

Meeting Tea Tree Gully Hoel car park 8.00am for a 8.30 departure

Have a safe & great New Years to all where ever you are.

Cheers bwvtom

Hope you had a good one Kym, certainly looks great over there (for a visit only). You're not far from a mate of mine who lives in Muchalls on the east coast just above Stonehaven. If you see a unmistakable red F50 Ferrari spinning around in those parts say G'day, even better, if you see his daughter in her silver GT3 Porsche you would probably prefer to say hello to her......

Bernie and I are heading up to Port Augusta tomorrow, it's Kipo's 50th and it should be a great night...might take a camera just in case anyone slips.

Must organise a ride when you get back.

Happy New Year to all...

cheers

Adelaide V~Strom Collective

Hi to all SA ADV riders and Happy New Year.
Just a quick note to inform you all that there is an "Adelaide V~Strom Collective" in the making.
The aim is to compile an e-mail list of Adelaide riders interested in participating in a monthly ride (hopefully).
If this is something you are interested in and have a V~Strom or one of the more road orientated Dual Sport Machines then fire off an e-mail to vstromadelaide@gmail.com and I will add you to the list. I say road orientated because a V~Strom ain't no trail bike. We will however be travelling plenty of dirt on the roads less travelled. I anticipate the first ride to be at the end of January.

If you have been lurking here waiting for a more road orientated riding group to appear maybe this could be for you. A few of the early replys have little or no off road experience so we will be taking it easy for a while at least.

Before you do though see the threads at the Stromtrooper website below for more info.

Cheers may see you Sunday.........Just ride ......... Ian

p.s. Great photos Brewmeister but for once I'm certainly no jealous, safe travels mate.
