Toggling Tracks in Mapsource?
In Mapsource, how do I get a track to no longer display, other than deleting it, once I've selected it to show on the map? I'm sure it's easy, but it's not obvious (at least to me).
Thanks, Jay

Hey Jay, I would just right-click the track, go to track properties and set the color to transparent. That way you still see a little dotted track too.

Click off the Tracks tab, either waypoints, routes, or maps. As long as your in Tracks, any one you select will be highlighted yellow. To toggle tracks, make another yellow...click on it, either from the list of tracks in the tab or on the map with the arrow selection tool. The first one selected should go back to just the dotted line once the second one is selected.
If you want the dotted line to go away, this gets us into another topic entirely concerning how one manages their mapsource files. If you want to delete the track, by all means do though I think you may be asking another question...maybe. Is it that you want to see a route/ waypoint only without the clutter of the dotted lines? Right click and copy whatever it is out of the tabs you want on its own. All windows rules apply, you can select control to grab several things selectively or shift if you want a list of things...whatever. Open a new file and paste...easy. In "My Garmin" I keep a file for "GPS dumps" Whenever I read the GPS I save it in this file with a date in the file name or a description of the trip. I also have a file for Waypoints with sub-files for friends n family, KTM dealers, BMW dealers, Mexico, etc... Routes I store in its own lair with subs for Mexico, Western NC, Westfest, whatever...this is a big file Keeping organized isn't all that intuitive with mapsource. Took me several years to come up with my system. I started out keeping everything in one page file of mapsource. It got really big and cumbersome to manage. Thinking this may be your problem. One BIG omision in later Mapsource versions is that they deleted that "show on map" check box in the track properties pop up As stated above, only choice in PS is make track transparent or just copy to another mapsource file and delete from the file you don't want to see it in.
