Get dirt bike/MX apparel, street type gear wll have to sweating buckets and the protection, from the MX gear, means you get up with a smile on your face, after a little tip over, of which I speak from vast personal experience.

Come ride a couple of times and expect to be frustrated, unless you're a natural, because you'll fall over and have lots of slow speed crashes, but within a couple of rides you find the sand challenging and fun....

I think the DRZ400 is a great bike, I had one for 4 years before I traded in and got the KTM. 250 four strokes are a little underpowered in the sand but have the advantage of light weight.

I don't think you'll regret riding with the fleas.
Thanks!!! Lots of great advice! I really appreciate everybody taking the time for me. I can't wait until I am riding with you guys.

Well, I rode like a girl but it was still fun to be out there. Some days are just better than others, but it never sucks. Looking forward to next time, and hoping it isn't eight weeks away.

So how exactly does a girl ride?

We all have our off days... A couple of weeks ago I went out with Dirtfun and we strafed the forest, well at least he did. I couldn't get my timing down and I couldn't get the bike to turn or keep it on the trails. I would either run over the top of the berms or tuck my front end and crash.

Of course having 4 psi in both tires didn't help.

I imagine some of them ride very well, so I should clarify and say that I rode like a little girl, who has never been on a bike before.

Alright you FF's, get back to work! I went in today and worked till 1:00, then said my knee hurts and went home. My wife called to get my old MRI and the report, so I can get a 2nd opinion. It's swelled up but I can still walk. Hell, I was climbing up on the frame machine today.
I really liked watching ChrisE crash on all the logs, glad you only got some bruises, even PK's little tip over was amusing.
Pk and I had a nice ride back, we hit some twistys on the slab at about 70mph. We don't need no sumo tires.
Yeah my knee hurts, but I still wouldn't trade it for the good times and fun. Besides, Kuntz' always makes me a internet star.

Where the pics at? You know, a little bird told me that if there's no pic, it didn't happen.

Amazing how good knobbies are in the twisties. Some people may say you're crazy, but they hook up really well IMO.

Dr. Z, you missed the pics, they are here.

http://kuntz.smugmug.com/gallery/3926004#227916440

I didnt get alot of pics, you other FFs need to bring some cameras.

I tweaked my right knee on a simple tip over, I think it will be OK though. It only hurts when I bend it a certain way.

I am having trouble with this computer here, but I have a good connection, finally I hooked up my laptop and it works fine.

I checked out the pics, it looks like BM's faceplant was the only proof that one of the bikes went down. As far as the other faceplants go...

Hope it was nothing too serious on the knee PK & BM, it seems like it's turning into an epidemic around here!

Good thing. Now I know I won't be distracted laughing when I am trying to avoid eating some dirt. I do enough of that on my own without any help from my friends.
