Just spending a couple of days at the beach, we will head home sometime tomorrow. Will have to try Snack Jacks, the hostess here recommended them.

Fish tacos and crab cakes at High Tide were very good.
So, what went wrong with Pete's machine?

I think it's a problem with the fuel cap not venting properly.

Gona put adhesive foil of the engine side of the tank which I understand keeps the heat off enough. There was a real POP when I took off the gas cap so clearly there is also a vent issue as Eloy stated. Also considering larger rads. Great day out but it was exhausting getting the orange bitch going! Learned a couple of things. 1 Don't ride on your own 2 towing a bike can be alright! Technique for the tow was one peg to the oppostie peg on the other bike. That way the tow rope does not get caught in anything. Worked much better than the 690 day!

I have ridden with Joey TONS of times in the worst heat and the clarke tank didn't hiccup once. Might try venting options first Pete.
The MXC tank hasn't been any kind of issue at all and it get rad airflow through it....

Thanks Buzz will do.
The temp difference on the actual gas tank for mine Vs Eloys was very marked. It won't do any harm to foil the inside of the tank in any event

Get rid of the one way valve on the Gas cap, the Fuel will still bubble even with foil, especially if you riding at a slower pace. Seen it happen several times here in FL & even up in the mountains of NC.

Went to 4x4 mud bog in ingles. It was pretty cool watching those bad boys in that 5 acre bog. Everything was cool until a fight broke out in the bog that turned into a murder by knife.
Saw the whole thing from a distance. We left after that, wonder if the bog will survive.

That is some crazy shit, you should have come dust bogging with us instead. I saw a bunch of mud covered trucks on trailers on my way home, we rode right through that area today.
