Talking New '04 GS Adventure Yoo Hoo!

Got the silver one.... Boy is this thing tall!

I really like how it rides and the wind protection is good on the freeway. It has a great quality feeling to it.

I have a question about the low beam headlight. It doesn't seem to project forward well at all. It seems to shine thru a rectangular area of the glass so that the beam has a big notch on the left side. The high beam works fine. I've adjusted the beam upward with no success.

Thanks,
David

Welcome aboard. It seems tall now....but after a while....it'l be just right
On the light, all I can tell you is adjust it up until the bastards start honking and flashing...then it is just right. It is a focused beam, so it seems to stop rather abrubtly. Several of my bikes have the same set up...I suppose it is designed to limit the blinding aspect on other drivers. If you are like most of the folks on this board, you will put piaas or similiar driving lights anyway. One thing the GS has going for it is a powerful alternator. Good luck!

My beam has the same notch. I've been riding an 02 RT for the past year so the GSA OEM lights do seem pretty dim to me. The beauty of it is that there are so many lighting options for this mule.

Question Question regarding headlights

Ahh hell, instead of starting a new thread on our favorite topic of headlights, I'll just add it here...

We all know that the GS/Adv stock headlights SUCK DONKEY BALLS!!!

We all know that the fix(es) are aftermarket H1 bulbs and/or aftermarket auxiliary driving lights.

My question to you folks is this: "What H1 bulb does BMW use to begin with and why are the aftermarket H1's so much better?"

I don't want to accidentally purchase another one of those shitty bulbs!

Hello Ronssito!

Welcome and congrats on the purchase of the best color GS! Headlight? Yeah, they're wimpy. For me, aftermarket provided the solution. Compared to some of the UJM's out there, GS lighting appears to be broken. Oh well, more "character", right?

Marc

Congrats! and WTTA!
As the Moose said, you did get the best color GS...next to black.
Check out the Touratech HID for the left side. Looks badass and lights up everything. Expensive? Yes.

Rubbersidedown.
