My previous XT250 (2009) had one on from the factory,

Maybe that is why my buddy who also has a DRZ400S always has to change his rear tubes, he runs around 10-12 psi when we go offroading, and has had like 3 flats in the back while i never had one, i will tell him to add one too.

Definitely not necessary for fire roads and light trail riding. In fact as mentioned if you don't go below 15-20 psi, you really don't need a rim lock.

Size of fuel line

Does anybody know off the top of their head what size fuel line is on the DRZ...I can't get to my bike right now. Thanks

Thanks for the reply. I am so unsure of myself regarding motorcycles in general. I am always afraid I am going to break it or waste money. I haven't messed with anything on my bike, besides its first oil change at 500mi, I just ride it. I might do some light mod's. But it's my first bike and I am not sure what feels normal or what feels abnormal because I am new to riding.

It's time to get rid of the stock tires and get something with a little more grip. Not trying to start a tire war but what would be some good suggestions for off-road tires ? I ride about 50/50 dirt/street only because I ride the tarmac to get to the next dirt patch. Looking at the Pirelli mt21 or the Dunlop 606 for the rear--don't know about the front yet.
Looking for something that will track in sand and grip in the mud--street qualities aren't real important.
What say you guys ? Thanks for any ideas. BTW-the stock tires suck offroad-especially in sand--or mud.

I also ride 50/50, and i liked the rear shinko 244 with a front pirelli scorpion MXCH, will be getting that combo for the drz as well.

Im currently running Shinkos 244 front and rear on all our Suzukis. DR200, dr350se, drz400s, and on our dr650se. Used to run 606's, but honestly, these do ok. Give up some traction in true off road conditions, but still acceptable for at least how we ride.

I am running MT21's front and rear and am about as happy as possible considering they are not 100% dirt tires. The MT21 rear is much happier in mud than the D606, the 606 likes to slide out sideways. Good luck with your search.

Thanks for the suggestions on the tires. I've only got a little over 800 miles on the bike so far and I'm already tired of the stock rubber sliding and spinning off road. Pretty good on the highway--but I didn't buy this bike to ride pavement.

I've gone MT21 rear and XCMH on the front. I think the XCMH is a little better in sand

What is the 22mm wrench for?

Hello gang, I just picked up an 08 DRZ-s from my brother and I was going through the tool kit and I found a 22mm wrench. I checked the nut on both axels and they are both 24mm. Does anyone know what the 22mm wrench is for.

My 2011 has a 24mm on one side of the rear axle and a 22mm nut on the other................................
