The biggest problem with the DRZ is that you end up riding it so much that it leaves very little time for maintenance, oh that's right it takes very little time. Just turned over 40,000 miles and still loving it.

there looks to be some good riding along the side of the princeton highway(between kamloops and merrit) on the other side of all those small lakes, some amazingliy shaped steep rolling hills.
makes me wish my XL600 was running right now, and it was summer. that or someone wants to sell me a cheap DRZ or dr350

Hey guys I'm a little confused on model nomenclature.

I'll be buying a DRZ for dual sport use, primarily learning dirt skills and exploring (not going to do any extreme dirt or jumps or anything), but an occasional trip into town or something. No great distance is expected. So...which model should I be looking at, the S, or the E?

Why?

thanks!

S is factory street legal
E has a few more ponies but is NOT factory street legal
If you live somewhere where plating dirt bikes is easy, go for the E
If you live in Kalifornistan or the like, get an S

It all depends on the state, some allow the conversion of dirt bikes to street legal and some don't. California does not any longer.

Someone from TN will have to answer that one.
