dirt bagz

Anybody out there have a set of Dirt Bagz and mounts for a DRZ-S they'd like to get rid of? I could use a set, but would like to save a few $ over buying new.

Even with my Tonn's plate and case saver's, I still manage to break something on my DRZ. Bent my stock handlebars on my last outing after hitting an ice patch doing about 30 mph on a rocky road. This is the 2nd set in a year . Oh well, gives me an excuse to install the Pro Taper mid-atv bars I bought mid-summer last year ... um, when it gets warmer anyway.

farkles, farkles, farkles

Let the FARKLES/Farkling begin:

For the bike:
Wolfman Expedition Duffle bag
Wolfman Enduro tank bag
TT case savers
Tonn's skid plate
MSR mirror( replacement)
DRC wide foot pegs
New NGK plug( not really a farkle)
Progrip 714's( I use these on all my bikes)
SS oil filter

Just the bags

For me:
AFX FX-37 DS helmet
Smith goggles with racer pack
Thor hat...just for the heck of it since it was on clearance and I have some Thor gear.

FYI, i just replaced the plug with an NGK last fall. Cleaned/oiled the filter as well. The used one in the box was the one that came with it so i dunno its age. I def wanna check out the enduro tank bag. I've been thinking of ditching the tail and going with tanker since i'm not sure how well that motech mount will stand up to the whoop infested pines! U're ditching the mirror and the jelly SBK grips too? Sacrelidge!

I bought a pair of those MSR mirrors and they are worthless other than for passing inspection. They're not very strong so they shake while going down the road; turning everything into a blurr, and they arent tall enough so I get a nice view of my shoulders. The only thing good I can say about them is they are lightweight compared to the stock ones. Just my $.02

+1

My KLX400 came with one on it and I rode with it for 2 years. I didn't like it but didn't know what else to do. Then I rode a friends XRL that had the Ken Sean mirrors they sell on TT and other places. Those mirrors didn't shake at hiway speeds and stood tall enough so I could actually see behind me (had been looking at my arm or the sky before). So I got one for mine and have been able to see the cars behind me for some time now. If your bike is an E model, you can get the clutch lever clamp adapter from Baja Designs. They also sell the mirror too. That's my .02.

After you've used that helmet a bit, post a review or just pm me. I'd like to know what you think of it. I've read mostly negative comments so far but the price is so much more doable for me than the Arai or Shoei. Thanks.

Don't know if you saw my other posts over on TT, but that puddle...you know, the huge one got water in the oil...found that out last saturday. I immediately changed the oil, and put in the stuff you gave me with the bike. I did not have a filter, so I cleaned the one in there as best I could and had to put it back in. I have since bought two more paper filters. I am gonna do another oil change this weekend and swap out to good filters. Next oil change, the ss one will go in.

The mirror, as someone said later in thread....mayb no be much better..we'll see. The progrip 714's are the best grips I have ever had. this will be the fourth bike I put them on. The plug is just to have another.

Yeah, I may upgrade to something better down the road..I'd just thought I would try this one. The one on bike now works up tp 40 mph...after that, useless.

I got a nice bonus gift card for Christmas....just made it so I could buy all the things I wanted now, instead of over time. I could not get cash for it, or use it for any bills, so bike shopping it was.

I'll let you know. I did find out I can use regular goggle with it, but sadly, not these new ones with the racer pack..so that sucks...but I can use them with an MX helmet I have. I did have to send the AFX DS ne back to get a larger size..their size chart is soooo not right for this particular model. Fits well now..saturday I amy try to get a little ride in, with it on.

Question Panniers for DR-Z 400E

I've got an 05 model with 12,000 kms on it... runs like a dream. I've seen recently a WR250R loading to the brim with gear and was told it did a trip across Australia. I thought... "if a Yammy can do it, the DR can do it"! Can someone just let me know their thoughts on loading the DR with panniers and gear for such a trip. Any DO's and DONT's, tips, tricks or ideas would be helpful.

The MSR mirror works decent if you mount it like this. I like it for a thumper.
