Too early? I go to work that time everyday!

Nice pictures, and I still can't take a pic while moving either!

What kind of MPG do you get with the valk? My friend has one and get only about 100-120 miles on a tank! Usually works out to less then 30. Does that sound about right?

I guess you know the nickel trick right? Balancing a nickel on the vale cover while on the side stand and start the bike and it STAYS upright! That is one smooth engine! You can even rev it up, it just shimmys side to side a little.

After I got down McNeilly Hill road (sorry, no shots in the AM as a pushy pickup was behind me, and McNeilly's really steep) I made it to Hwy 8. These are shots of the ridge-line I was riding on:

But my normal routine has me up around 5:30ish, on the road by 6 to get to work by 7-ish. Waking up at 4:15 AM presents a problem in figuring out what to do with this unscheduled time.

Valk MPG really depends on how you ride. If you keep it under 3500 RPM, you should do a lot better than 30MPG. Above that, and she's a thirsty girl. My Interstate has a larger tank and my riding style generally gets me around 200 miles / tank. The I/S tank is a gallon or so larger than a standard / tourer's tank though.

If you're interested, check the VOAI board for more discussion on Valk MPG.

Know the trick, haven't tried it yet. I do like how it sounds like a jet engine spooling up when I roll on the throttle. :)

Last pic before arriving at work

This trip normally takes about 1:10 start to finish. When I finally got to my desk this time, nearly 3 hours had passed from when I left home.

It sure didn't feel like it though.

Part II coming soon - "A Valkrie takes the long way home."

Thanks for coming along for the ride!

Hey those are some great photos.

Excellent camera work.

The stoplight in the am is now my wallpaper.

Thanks!

Thanks for stopping by, and I'm glad you liked the picture enough to make it your wallpaper.

Come back in the next day or so when I post part II - "A Valkyrie takes the long way home." :)
