Compliments to the lady and also that bike of yours is looking good, doing a great job in it off road element. That bike needs a sticker like this.

Hello...just got '97 DR200

Well...our "MC related" life has just been like the 3 little bears story:

The KLR is a bit too big....the Honda Trail 90 a bit too small....and so after seeing my wife's sad face a few times over her not having a bike of her own we grabbed a '97 DR200 yesterday off Craigslist and she said...."just right". I think the purple seat and frame got to her too!

Ran it all day today...it's a simple, solid, little bike with a lot of potential as proven all over the world...and this thread has helped us make this decision....thanks to all!

I will find the link where I first saw the screens and get back to you.

Finally found a clear spot to stop and take a shot. Lots of twisty, tight turns, up-n-down hills... it was fun.

Question DR200 down the Oregon Coast?

I purchased my 2010 DR200SE on Oct 13th 2011 with 10,500kms on it. Today July 9th 2012 - I have 29,000kms on it.

I am on Vancouver Island and all the kms have been here except a couple of weeks ago I rode it to Winthrop WA and found many a winding road through the Chuckanut, the North Cascades West 20. The bike even did well riding the I5 freeway getting up to a respectable 100-110kms hr. A little buzzy but she did well. The seat is also not comfortable .... ouchy. So I am now contemplating riding part of the Oregon Coast road..........what do you all think? Am I pushing my bike too hard? All my kms have been on pavement as well..

Also I have some soft saddle bags and looking for a frame to put on my bike so I can use the saddle bags....does anyone have one they would be willing to sell?

Thanks

It's really hard to kill a DR200. Just change the oil early and often and keep zinging along. My wife has a new Seat Concepts seat on hers, and I'm really jealous. It's much more comfortable.

Is it the DR250 foam? I don't see a DR200 listed on their site but when I clicked on the DR250 I saw DR200 listed there as bikes it fits.

I sent the old seat in, and they made a new seat to fit. A DR250 isn't related to a DR200.

Yeah I know that. But if you look on SeatConcepts site it says the DRz250 seat fits 1994 and up DR200. I emailed them and asked if that was a typo.
