Totally depends on your region and whether you sold a DR dirt-only model or the more useful S or SE model. The street version will almost always fetch a little more.

Yep, and the e-start street models tend to go for a lot more than the kick start street models. Doesn't sound way out of the ballpark to me.

DR350 gas cap

Hello all, new to the 350 forum as I sold my 350 to a friend in order to get a DR650. My friend still has the 350 but recently ran into some gas cap issues. First problem was that it wouldn't come off. He turned the key but it wouldn't budge. He finally got the gas cap off but said it broke in the process.
Anyone have similar issues???
Know where to get a replacement besides the dealer??? (dealer wants $90.00)
Should he just get a new tank (IMS, Acerbis......)???

Thanks in advance for the help!

Here is the link for the best price I have found on Clark tanks. I have had good luck ordering from this place.

Thanks for the info, I'll pass it on and definitely suggest the new tank.

I'd go with a new tank regardless of whether the gas cap works;) The acerbis is my favorite (I have them on both my DR's). Its a bit slimmer between the legs than the clark and holds more gas than the IMS and is the only one with two petcocks.

Wonder if a replacement cap from IMS/Acerbis/Clark would work? I'm putting together my '95 350SE, and of course it has no key May have to get creative with the gas cap.

Just a nice little round one. Nothing fancy.

Not owning a DR350 (although I have tried to buy 3 or 4 without success)Baja Designs sells a 2 1/2" OD cable driven speedo for about $65.00. If the DR already has a cable driven ODO, I think the speedo from BD will work. BD says it will fit / replace any cable driven odo. Just my .02

Yeah, he got all offended when I told him I thought he was pricing himself out of the market. ..."I just paid $4200 this spring from a dealer..." who obivously saw him coming.

I picked up a 2001 DRZ400E instead, for a better price then I could find on any DR350 for sale in NE. I'll keep my eyes open for a DR350 in case one should come along.

So many bikes, so little money and time.

here are some crazy DR 350 storys...

I had to replace the Clutch, spring and thrust washers.
After completion I had to take off the clutch cover a few times for tweaking and replacing a broken spring bolt...
Still the DR was running like crap.
clanking comming from clutch side, clutch luching at stoplights etc.
On a whim, when I ordered the spring bolt, I also ordered a new clutch cable.

Both installed.... unreal, like a new bike!
Still had the clanking noise on HEAVY throttle.
The only mods I have done are cut 3/4 of the top of the air out, shimmed the needle, 2.5 turns on the mix screw. I also took out ALL of the pre-load out of the rear.
Today I / we installed a 140 main jet... the stock was a 127.5 and was a bronze color (coating from crappy gas). That is a HUGE jump in jetting!
No more clanking, and the response is INSANE! I don't know what to expect when I get the $ for an FMF Q 2! Might just toss me off the back

Now I just need a link to the T-vent mod so I will not have any more issues at the Rock Patch (uhwarrie)... anyone gots a link?
