Did you have any issues with the bark buster clamp hitting the top of the Acerbis tank? Can't tell under the hippo hands, but I had to do a lot of fiddling and some filing to ensure the inside clamp didn't hit the top of the tank at full lock.

Bike looks great BTW - mine has a Preston Petty round light/number plate on it - not anywhere near as large but I do prefer a round light on the DR....

My Acerbis cleared my barkbusters on my DR.Shoo-goo a penny on your steering stops if your close. BTW Where can I get one of those Cyclops lights? Is that an 8" light?

Would the chain guard off of a 1991 DR350 fit a 1996? I looked on bike bandits website and the part number is the same for both bikes.

Its a Trail Tech 8" race light. You can fit a Hella plastic cover over it to protect it. If you look close in my pic you can see that I have one on there protecting the glass.

Thanks, I didn't even think to check for that. I'll check when I ride it today.

I have a 3/4 or 1" bar riser on my DR and the barkbusters do not hit my acerbis tank. i think a rised bar is a must on a DR for riding standing up. Maybe if you have ape hanger for arms, that or I have tyrannoauorus rex arms.

Could there be a difference between the SE and dirt models on bar height? I ride standing up most of the time and I don't have any issues. But I do have the bars tilted up slighty and I am 6'2" so I do look similar to a bear on a tricycle with this bike...

My bars and bark busters don't even come close to hitting the tank. But I have the bars tilted slighty upwards to make riding while standing easier.

The bars on mine don;t come close, but the clamp for the hand guard was actually touching until I fiddled and filed. Now I have a good 1mm clearance. Risers would definitely solve the problem but I've not had a lot of trouble with riding position and I also do most off road riding standing up.

BTW - While I find the Acerbis tank a bit much off road (ie. too large and unwieldy), I give them a lot of credit for making it a breeze to ride behind while standing. Regardless, for street or extended off road the extra capacity is worth it.

Sorry for the fuzzy photo - it was dark and I used a flash:

and a little clearer:

That looks different from my tank. How old is yours?
