No they are not that different. The main part is the logo. The oldest ones had a recessed area for the name plate which was screwed in. Then I think they jsut started using a sticker in the reccess. Now the Acerbis logo is painted into the tank itself and the rectangular reccess is gone. The shape has not changed. I have had an old one and a new one side by side.
The edge of the the knee cut out however seems to be less defined on your old tank though. Looks like yous has bludged out a bit over the years.

Engine Help
So I bought a ’97 from a friend…Sight unseen.
He said his son was riding it and “messed up the piston” No prob I thought…. Here is what a “messed up” piston looks like if you are curious… ![]() and ![]() oh and… ![]() Don’t forget this… ![]() So my question to you guys (and gals) is… Does anyone have any parts they could part with to get this lady up and running again? I will pay a fair price, I do not expect charity, I just need to get this going if I am going to finish before riding season is back. It is the SE model. Thanks, PS DO NOT let your 17 year old ride your bike unless they pay you…

I just picked this up yesterday. I still don't know if I'm going to keep it or not. It's a 96 and runs great ...8200 miles. My first ride I was very impressed with how well it went for a 350.

It was $1900.00 but needed a battery and a couple other small things. After much negotiating bullshitting $1740.00

Hard Parts
+1 on the motors being hard to find.
It's not very often I resort to begging on ADV for motor parts ![]() I have cracked the case and cleaned everything, but the crank must have gotten some bits of piston pushed between the bushings. The rod will just barely turn on the pin, and it dosen't look burned. If you guys didn't make the dang thing sound so fun to ride I would just part the rest of it out. Quote:

lowering
Hello,
Just got 95 dr350 a few days ago. Really like it, rode 60 miles today, got a little muddy. Would like to lower 2" but the forks look like they can be lowered only about 3/4 of an inch then you get into smaller area. Any advice. Experienced rider just beat up body. Thanks, Heirhead |
