Cool2 no ride this weekend

Did all my quality time in the garage. I spent an hour making the place neat as a pin and in a few hours had completely dimsmantled 3 1970s Guzzi motors in order to evaluate putting them back together into one working unit. And in the process completely destroyed the garage again. AMzingly enough I can tel you exactly where each socket and bolt is.

I love this shit man. To me voyaging through the deep guts of an old bike motor is just as good an adventure as putting down a few hundred miles. I never tire of carressing the innards of the these lovely european motors. Every time I open one up it is like the very first time I popped the catch on Ol' Dolly Pringle's bra.

The pic is shit because my camera is shit.

I can understand that! First thing that comes to mind in both cases is "Nice Jugs".

You need to get out of that garage and go get laid. I'm serious dude... before something bad happens. What you are doing is not healthy!

Hmmmm

All this wrenching porno has me thinking.

If they don't total the GS, I'll just bring it home and fix it myself. How hard can that be?

Two brothers exhaust, with cat eliminator. New rear wheel, new lights, new subframe, new rear fender, new tank, new valve cover, mirror, hand guard, windshield, front beak, and various other parts can't be that hard to do.

Save myself about $70 an hour. Nothing but time baby.

But then, what do I do with hidden damage if I discover it? That needs to be addressed.

Ah the hubris of the noob.
The problem is that it is *never* as easy as it seems. This ol' Guzz ferinstance; I have been wanting one of these old bastards for well over a decade. 2 times a great deal slipped from my outstretched fingers. And the prices just kept climbing. So finally I collected 3 wrecks and mated them all into one bike. I now have more money (not including time) into this beast than you can get a good runner for. Expect that rebuilding the GS will cost you more than you think. Still, it is fun as hell, you learn a LOT in the process and it keeps you out of trouble.

Amen. Don't let my complaints slow you down. worts case...you have a pile of bits to selll for Far more than you'll have to pay for the salvage. Hell I'd love to get one of those motors and drives to do something sick to.

WE HAVE THE TECHNOLOGY!!!... Then you'll have the "Six Million Dollar GS" for pennies on the dollar AND that way-too-much-for-you K1200RS you're lusting after [It's a magnificent bike: I rode one for over42.000 miles before my friendly, local, Salvadorian lawn care crew pulled out in front of me one morning and totalled it... You don't KNOW how bad I wish I'd have picked up the salvage title on that bike, but I had just met Brian and had NO IDEA that this could be done at "home"]... Just falking DO IT!!!... We'll amke your GS into a real sweeti ...

dito Pepe <><
Deal I'll give it a shot. I doubt they total it.
