Sunday would probably work better for me.

Just sayin' ...

'sides ... I can certainly find a bar that is open on a Sunday.

Jimmy Lewis, with plenty of Paris-Dakar mileage under his belt, was at the photo shoot. He fell just like the rest of us.

If you are planning to ride a large GS in soft sand it's pretty much a lost cause.

The F-650's looked a lot better that day.

BTW Sanjoh, I like your "location" in your profile. Are you upwind or downwind of the Northside?

Possible headed to BMW Daytona...

I may have to go down to Daytona to get my bike looked at... I put knobbies on the X Ch last week & ever since I've been getting this wicked wobble at 65mph + ... I'm not anal, it's a significant "lane changing" gyration... front & rear are perfectly in balance, but the front end feels exceptionaly light... any experience with this on a GS? The guys at the local shop told me I was just being bitchy, finaly got one of them to do a test ride, got a full apology, but still no diagnosis... I'm gonna try & put the shitty Sharahs back on & see what that does... open to any and all suggestions...

I dunno what you run on an X-Challenge but they say that the knobbies that the factory puts on the big GS handle very well, they just wear out faster than the dual sport tires.

Good luck Mon!

I sorta wonder if they didn't seat one tire correctly.

I put Pirelli Scorpions, it's a DOT Knob... just cant figure if it's a tire issue or axel/suspension, it's not making sense...

I had my GS in the shop at Daytona for front end oscillation at speed after putting on TKC's. Mark took it for a BRISK ride and reported it handled fine. I got it back from them after they tested it out. NTF, NO wobble during their testing.

He said he did nothing other than air pressure adjustments. I believe him and I'm glad it doesn't head-shake at speed anymore, but that was weird how setting the pressure took care of it. I haven't played around with higher/lower pressures, maybe I should to see if that really was the fix! I've mounted a hundred tires to my bikes and never had a tire so sensitive to air pressure. Maybe they just "wore in"?

I think that I'll be ready. Post it, or someone can call me at 904/673-0932.

PS - Cold beer at The British Pub in St. Augustine. Just a hint

I noticed too, but I'm out for today...

How did the repairs go? Everything back on, in tip-top shape, no leftover parts?
