Cool2 Ephrata, PA 03 Jun 2007

It looks like I will be able to make it to Ephrata this upcoming Sunday.

My route is 65 mile from Limerick, PA to Ephrata, all single lane, lots of twisties and elevation changes, 4 traffic lights, few more stop signs, very little LEO...

Cat, where in Limerick you heading from? I work right off the Limerick/Linfield exit these days so I'm learning my way around that area. I'm heading down there and I might have a buddy on a monster Yamaha cruiser tagging along. If not, you'll probably outpace me (I'm slow but I have fun) and I could be persuaded to come to Limerick to backtrack to Ephrata.

I have a get out of jail free card for the day so I'm looking to take advantage of the situation.

Get out of jail card not necessary. I'll probably be riding two-up, so the pace would be tame.

How about meeting at the WaWa gas station at the Limerick/Lindfield exit of Rt. 422 on Sunday morning at 8 AM?

Yes, WaWa is on N. Lewis Rd. There are at least two other WaWa gas station within 3 miles.

After Ephrata, I think I will ride over to Reading Airport to check out the WW2 weekend events.

Cat,

Thanks for leading the route from Limerick to Ephrata. It was a really good route avoiding slab and finding some really untravelled twisty roads.

It was good to meet everyone who came along on the ride and hope that we get the chance to ride together again.

Thanks for coming out.
I seek out roads that are entertaining and very little traffc, but it seems that no matter where you go these days, you'll always get stuck behind some cars.

Cat,
Thanks for leading a great ride, good roads, good pace, not much traffic..
The ride home was a different matter...a little drizzle, and a lot of indigestion, we made the mistake of eating at a "Sonic" burger joint, not too bad going down, but I still have a greasy aftertaste today .....

Maybe the next time we could take the "river crossing" route to Ephrata when we all have more capable bikes.

ehatcher,
Thanks for letting me try the "custom" F650GS, truely a unique machine, the pivoting pegs are quite something, I'll have to look more into them.

What's in Ephrata? That's not too far away from me. If I can meet up with some other ADV Riders... I'm all in!

There is a breakfast ride in on the first Sunday of each month, April- November. Depending on the weather the turnout is between a couple of hundred to over a thousand. The breakfast is ok, the roads getting there are great.
