DVD Reveiw: Dirt Wise with Shane Watts
Picked up this DVD after reading about it on Thumper Talk. It's Great.
Link I'm 44 and though I've ridden street bikes off and on for almost 30 years until recently I hadn't ridden dirt since high school. After a few dirt rides I wanted to find some ways, in addition to riding, to improve my dirt riding skills. Whilst searching I ran across Dirt Wise and after reading virtually unanimously positive comments about it I bought it. The DVD starts out with some foundations to learn and upon which the rest of the DVD builds. These foundations include riding position, various bike handling skills (wheelies, stoppies), turning and clearing obstacles. These are great for me and I suspect other novice dirt riders. It goes on to much more advanced stuff including dealing with many types of terrain, more advanced obstacles, jumping and much more. The advanced stuff is great to watch because you get to see where all the foundational skills come into play. Plus it's just plain inspiring. There are some things I didn't care for such as the various commercials interspersed through out as well as some of the lame interveiws. But this being a DVD it's easy to skip what you don't want to watch. All in all it's money well spent.
