Question Zumo Question: Saving a journey after the fact

The Zumo manual makes clear that you can save routes that you create in advance, but suppose you just want to explore (with the GPS on), like where you've been and would like to save that journey as a route for future use.
Do you have that option with the Zumo?

Thanks.

Sure, I do it all the time. Click on the wrench from the main screen then the "User Data" folder then "Manage Trip Log". Click on "Save As Route" and choose the portion you are looking to save. It will save it as "Imported Route". I usually re-name it by using the "edit" button. If you want to save it to your SD card then press the "Share" button.

All your tracks are saved on the Zumo. Maybe up to a months worth of riding. The Zumo can store up to 20 archive track logs plus the active log.

Only the active log can be saved to a route on the Zumo. But you can download any of the archive tracks to Mapsource and then make a route by uploading the tracks (edited/combined too if you want) back to the Zumo using Mapsource.

After uploading to the Zumo, how do I convert it to a route?
And after I do so, can I download it again to Mapsource as a Route?

Thanks.

Here is a famous road bike route in CA - RT 36. I downloaded all the tracks including RT36 from my 2,500 mile trip to Mapsource. Copied the RT36 segment of the track to a clean Mapsource and I could have changed the name of the May28 track too - but it was my birthday.

Then I saved the RT 36 GPX file on either the SD card or the Zumo in the Garmin/GPX directory. When you boot up the Zumo the new data will be recognized or you could wait and import later using the import data function.

The other tracks were from another advrider trip.

The Zumo auto converts the track to a route - Then you take a look at your new route - complete with voice prompts/directions/mileage etc.

When you USB link to the Zumo all routes, trip logs and waypoints may be downloaded if you want to.
