Thumb Leathers to spare!

Jeez Haldane, How many outfits do you have anyway? I once heard 17 helmets! No wonder Barb can travel to SA! lol And yes, Hatcher is great when the crowds are not there. Late in the evenings is a great time to ride it and early on sunny mornings is great too when the chance of frost is gone!

I was wondering how long it would be before I heard something about "knee down" or knee pucks.

I purposely don't do it because by not doing it the bike is getting farther over onto the little used edge of the tire. Yes, little used as in not used enough out on the street and in the colder clime we live in. So I'm always looking for an opportunity to take the bike to an angle where I can wear off some of the rubber out near the edge. Fun!

My rear tire will rarely have a "chicken strip" and the only time I've gotten to the very edge of the front tire was down at www.tailofthedragon.com in Deal's Gap. Yeah baby. Performance bike, hot tires and hot pavement, and again, no traffic. One of MY best rides ever.

I thought about putting pucks on and getting a knee out just for looks but since I don't usually ride that way I thought I'd just go for my more natural look. I was lucky to push it as hard as I did because it was sprinkling and started raining just as we were wrapping up.

Robert insisted on at least one "hooligan" shot. Again, not usualy me. Mark H.

Ha! More truth to this question than you'd think. Owning both a sportbike and a KLR, it totally cracks me up when I read about KLR owners who claim to outride sportsbikes on roads like Deal's Gap! Especially since I've ridden The Gap. I usually call them on it too. Too funny.

Thanks for all the compliments, folks. It's easier to look good when Robert's doin the shootin. Our loss Vegas' gain. Mark H.
