Kudos to Cascade BMW, BMW NA
Some of you may have seen my post regarding clutch shaft spline failure at 24.5K miles. Had it trailered into Cascade BMW of Kirkland, WA (where I purchased the bike almost three years ago). My warranty is up end of September, so the repairs are covered. That was the good new. The bad news was the spline shaft and some other parts are no where to be found in this country and would have to be ordered from Germany. Minimum 2 weeks due to customs, etc.
Mike (service manger) and Keith (parts manager) found that there was a new transmission available from the west coast warehouse, and after some pleading of my case to the BMW representative, got authorization to replace the transmission under warranty so that I would not be without my bike for 3 to 3 weeks.
Cascade is developing a reputation as the dealer that will go to bat for you on issues w/ warranties. There was an letter in BMW ON magazine about a BMW owner that had purchased his bike at the other dealer, and had an engine failure. The dealer presented it to BMW, and the claim was denied, BMW saying it was baiscally self inflicted or something along these lines. He then had the bike taken to Cascade, and with the help of Paul Baker and his staff, was able to build a case that BMW finally accepted. In addition to this, I have heard another story very similar to that one.
The bottom line, Cascade will take care of you after the sale!! They have earned my loyalty, and when I need a new BMW in the future, the sale is theirs. I also thank BMW for allowing this to happen. We are having a string of great weather in the NW, and I was very disapointed that I was going to miss a lot of it. This just saved me almost two weeks of missed riding time.:):

To Cascade and BMW.
It really boggles my mind why BMW can't get their stuff to gether in the Portland area.
Hell, we even have the same sales and service reps as you do up there but they seem to have a completely different agenda down here...too bad.
I need some warranty work done on the Adventure, maybe I'll take it up to Cascade.
