This story was hilarious! You are insane for even attempting this, and you do owe your friends major, but you tell a heck of a funny tale. I think you should write a primer for "how to get your money back for a hotel room after you have checked in and decide you don't want to stay." Thanks for sharing!

Glad you made it Ok. I bought a bike on ebay in Tenessee and rode it home to Fort Lauderdale, took me two days. the only problem was a flat tire, but that was during business hours so no problem. Atlanta BMW took really good care of me. I would try to do a ride like that with a a buddy in the future

Great trip, you won't forget that one!
(Welcome to Ducati ownership. I owned two, what a love/hate relationship! My 95 900SP chain broke on the way to work years ago. Of course it broke in the 'hood. I had to walk a couple miles to work (no cellphone at the time) and got yelled at by the boss for being late. I gave him the evil eyes and walked right back out to drive a borrowed car to the bike shop for a chain, and then back to the bike to fix it. Left the car and rode the bike back!) |

Great Story!
It was good to read about someone being cold when it is 97 degrees outside (but it is a wet heat). FFB

I'm glad you guys enjoyed it!
I've recently gotten back from the Grand Canyon on my Nighthawk, and its been a crazy time...I didn't bring my camera, but my passenger did, and once I get them from her, I'll write up another report that should trump this one soundly... |

Man, I hope you don't trump this one - at least as regards a tale of woe. Great storytelling, even if you didn't get a pic of the girls kissing you. Must be the chick you took to the Grand Canyon kept you in check Get them pix - and post the nasty bits in Toxic Britney or Toxic Gothic Women. After all, you owe it to your ADVrider brethren Or you could just give us the classy bits about the big hole. In the ground. And how much fun the slab was. And the big hole - oh, nevermind, just write the damned report!

Great Story!
I just picked up a newish 561 miles on it ST3s in Illinois a couple of weeks ago. A one way ticket, no hot women making out, not a damn thing went wrong. I was so amazed at the lack of anything that there was nothing for a ride report . Swede |

Ya couldn't find a master link?
Dude- I have enjoyed many a numb-fingered Northern ride myself, and I'd hate to deprive you or anyone else of the opportunity to post an IT HAPPENED TO ME Ride Report about being broke down a thousand miles from home... cold, penniless, and facing the possibility of being beaten and/or sodomized... but they DO have this thing called "Motorcycle Shipping" nowadays. I employed a company that bid on my job thru Uship.com and it cost me all of 300 clams to transport a motorcycle from New Jersey down to The Gulf just last month. It rode safely and comfortably inside a trailer from the seller's house right to my driveway, and all I had to do was hand over the dough and roll the bike down a ramp.
Lots more money left over for gas and goodies! (Unless your idea of a Righteous Motorcycle Adventure actually IS spending days riding around in airplanes & wreckers & pickup trucks. "To each, his own"!) ![]() ![]() . GatorJane screwed with this post 07-24-2009 at 07:32 AM |
