Saturday catfish in Rulo

A handful of folks are heading up to Rulo, NE (SE corner, on the river) for catfish Saturday. Flashstromer and iyeager from MO, GSBiker (anyone else?) from NE, myself and possibly Rockhound from Topeka.
Some of us are going to hook up at McDonald's in Atchison, KS at 11:30, then head up Rt. 7 to Rulo. Should be ready for catfish about 1:00.

I remember a certain someone dragging a group of us out there for a good ole Missouri backroad Baptism last year....in December no less...who would speed up in front and get his camera ready at every crossing.....

Problem now is Lost Creek and surrounding roads have been dried up all summer.....it's still a great ride but not as good unless those creeks are filled up....

Good point. I supose someone could do those roads with little or no experience without too much trouble.

You know part of the problem was traced back to this guy splashing all the water out of the creeks last year....seems they've had trouble filling up since he's been down there......

(BTW - I've found a few fun spots down there that keep the KLR riders on their toes.... and I've been shown a few that are best for my KDX)

Getting ready to turn in and checked to see if you've been around Mike - I guess your ears were burning... Dale isn't hitting these spots but I do know the way for a quick detour.....found a nice little uphill stair stepped road that's spanked a few skid plates on the way up on the heavier bikes.....the 450's wheelie up.......the DRZ plows....but we all make it -
so I guess this means your coming to the ride.....

Work keeps me from attending, but I think I know those roads. I'll probably want to get my gravel legs to some degree before going on a ride. I prefer learning such things at my own pace, but I do have a routing question.

I've been down schutzen a few times, and I shoot at reifschnider every so often. What does Schutzen connect to, I've driven down it but started seeing a shit ton of no tresspassing signs and turned around. Does it pass through, connect to a more extensive network of gravel roads?

If I remember right, it has a few low water crossings, a few big dogs and comes out at hwy.47. Thumpster should know for sure. He had the GPS. I was just tagging along.

I'll have to wait and see. I've had to work the last few weekends. And my dad has been wanting me to help him.
He's moving into a place up near Hawk Point. So If I can I will.

Schuetzen Ground turns into Charretee Creek which hits 47.....Keep on going, it's a great road for gravel practice.....if you have a GPS I can upload a file here or send you a file....

klrzorn: Been down there a bunch this summer ....haven't seen those damn labradors that tried to eat me or that rottweiller that set his site on you.
But I've had a few close encounters of the deer kind.....
