I should have kept my KLR, so now I'm kicking myself in the ass.

My son sold his DR so he could buy his first car, got tired of not being able to drive in the rain/winter. He ended up getting in an accident with that and totaled it, he was fine.
Then I bought him a 92 XR250L so he could get around, he's working on paying me back, cutting grass and stuff, and soon as he gets a job, he can start giving me some cash too.

So now I'm looking for a DR650, want something a little lighter than the KLR.

Savings account, ha ha, I hear you guys, it's always something. I would have a bike already, but the water heater went out, that was 300 bucks, then later the A/C unit went out, that was 2000 bucks, and I bought my sons bike for 1100 bucks and had to put like 100 into it to make it street legal again.

So for 3500 bucks, I could have got a pretty nice used DR650 by now. The good news, my savings is up to 300 bucks,
Wow, looks like you been readin my mail. Boy graduated college, now off to law school...I do got an FZ1, and , well, I need a hot water heater...In St.Charles...I'd love a DR....someday maybe..

I'm kinda new here, but had a great ride to Peoria for the TT race Sunday. Camped 30 miles south west and rode to Pittsfield the next morning. Picked up Gary's River route after breakfast and went south. What a great ride, thanks Gary.

I did pics on here from my ipad by downloading the photobucket app... That's a 1st gen ipad with no camera. just emailed them from my phone to myself on the ipad and went from there. It was quicker than waiting until i got to a real computer.

I was talking to my Dad on the phone yesterday, who lives in Quincy and he was telling me about that fire.

The amount of smoke was amazing. I though maybe a grain elevator had blown up or something. I imagine he saw the smoke from Quincy. Maybe they had a lot of tires in there or something..

Bikeless

I sold my sportster last night. Now the search begins again! Hunting bikes has got to be at least as thrilling as deer.

If anybody has leads on great deals, PM. I'm up for about anything. Budgeting something under 6k. Would like two up capabilities. Miss the versatility of my KLR. Love the looks of a BMW RT. ULysses looks like a great option.

Anyway, needing support in these hard times. When i sold my last bike i had another loaded up before I was halfway home...

Last summer I went over Mosquito Pass out in Colorado.. I felt like I really had accomplished something..
I guy with his wife and all their camping gear came cruising past me on a KLR.. Made it look easy..

Those KLRs are everywhere, and seem bullet proof..

Lewis and Clark trail

Anyone have any suggestions for a two lane route following the Lewis and Clark trail from Missouri to Nebraska?
I am planning a trip for October.
Thanks

Just picked this up - anyone riding this weekend?

I just picked up this 04 KTM 450 MXC - street legal and plated. Have a set of D606's coming today - and a mirror. Looking to get it out this weekend to give it a spin so if anyone is riding on Sunday let me know. Thanks.
