What kind of a ride are you looking at?
My Challenge is running, the GSA has the rear shock in for rebuild..
More off the tarmac would be my first choice..

Does anybody here have interest in doing an Iron Butt SS1000 ride this year? I've been wanting to knock one out, and like the one that MizzouRider (I think, maybe it was somebody else) did that was all in MO.

I'd like to do one, and I could leave a trailer hitched to the minivan so my wife could provide South MO emergency support. Lodging available at the cabin, depending on where we wanted to start.

Thoughts?

I'm flexible. You have a route? Want me to lay out a route? Where we startn at. I'm in Red Bud.

I'd do it again, but I've got too many irons in the fire. I'm worried now my wife will have my bikes listed on eBay for $1.
I'll be happy to send you the route though. St Louis, Sikeston, Joplin, St Joseph, Canton, and back to St Louis. You have to go north of St Joe though and take 136 across, or the numbers don't add up.
I'd be happy to witness for you.
Also there is another forum, the motorcycle tourers forum. (MTF)
They sponsor a bunch of SS1000s every year. I don't know if Missouri is on the list this year. (The good part is, they submit all the paperwork to the Iron Butt Association for you.) makes it easier. Plus the ride is laid out. You still ride basically, alone, and you are on your own, just the details are taken care of.

I've been around Bixby a bunch lately. How about going south of you? I can head for Red Bud around 8:30? Or later. Go south from there? Unless you've been down that way too much. If so, we can ride Gary's north loop. I don't have the track on my GPS, but maybe someone can send it to me.....
Sorry I didn't see your post when I answered the SS1000 question. Late reply.

I too have thought about doing a SS1000 at some point. An "all around Missouri" route was also an idea that I had. Doing the same clockwise route from STL and back.

Sieg took me on the Red Bud tour yesterday.. Ha! We had a blast. 200 miles by the time I got home.
Still some icy spots out there. The gravel roads are great. The dirt roads.. Not so great, where they've thawed the mud is DEEP!

Only pic I took, the rest of the time we were riding.
Thanks Sieg! Good time.

Count me in. I appreciate your taking it easy on me.
My first thought was, I'm trying to keep up with a really good rider in the mud, and he's on a 250, while I'm horsing around a 650. This could get interesting.. But you showed me some mercy.
