Some truth to that in my case.
I bought a RANS V-Rex that sits in my garage ignored. I enjoy
riding it and can't handle a traditional ass-hatchet bike. The RANS is easier on
my lower back. An old ultralight flying buddy rode his bent coast to coast on the transamerica bicycle trail.

Had a blast. I highly recommend it. We hoteled it the first two nights. Booneville (I think) and then Jeff City.
Then we camped the third night by the ball fields in Marthasville. (I think, long time ago.)
One guy had the brilliant idea of getting a trailer for his bike. All my stuff fit on mine. The trailer had little wheels. It was like dragging an anchor. Torture. I took it in shifts. We finally left it in Jeff City. The other two guys wouldn't pull it any more. Ha.. May still be in the storage closet at the Holiday Inn.
The Holiday Inn has since been two other hotels!

You do not need any special Yamaha tools to do that Rolf.
Give me a buzz and I'll try to help you out.

Holy Crap! Time gets away from us.. Maybe I need to ride it again. This fall the leaves are supposed to be really colorful due to all the rain.

Black Bear Pass Telluride CO 8-21-13

ProDirtDale, Sieg and a local friend from Salida inmate BobDan & I just got back from a great week of riding the Rockies. Over 1000 miles, 80-85% offroad. What a hoot! We took the big bikes some places they just didn't belong. Hopefully I'll get around to a ride report sometime, but here is a few teaser videos from the infamous Black Bear, available in HD if you so choose. Part 3 is the best if you only have time for one right now. Unedited - Sorry, I'm computer challenged, but still learning - Tips appreciated. Enjoy!

WOW!!! Those are best videos I have ever saw of Black Bear. I want to ride it sooooooooooooo bad but the weenies I have been to Ouray with won't do it.

I've rode most everything around there except Black Bear, hopefully next trip.

Respect for doing it on the 950 I think I'll take the 690.

+1 Bill, amazing you guys did it on 950s.. I'm on the fence about Black Bear. I went over Scofield, it wasn't a problem, but BB.

Jeff----I found Black Bear much less intimidating, stressful and scary than Schofield if that makes you feel any better.

My buddy riding with me agreed---we did both on the same trip.

Your not suppose to ride up Black Bear because of the one way traffic-----You can legally ride up Shofield (going North)---but I don't advise it. I have a friend who is a AA enduro rider started to and backed out.

I'm sure it's been done---but the only person I know that did Schofield going up was the Wans--------------2-up-----after and long day----- in the dark---packing gear---on a 950. But those people are animals (superb riders with no fear).

I did Schofield starting from the Crested Butte side in 08, when I got back from Iraq. Me on a 12GS and a buddy on an 1100.

I barely had any business being there, he had none.

I'll agree, the Wans are amazing riders, and have AWESOME ride reports. We also went down Poughkeepsie Gulch, I'll have to get the videos of that one posted . . . definitely more challenging then Black Bear, just not a scenic!

I guess it's a good thing we never heard of Schofield until just now . . . sounds like a challenge for next time
