The KTM 390 sounds great. I'd not heard of it until you posted.
Thx
We rode those passes last week and rode Tin Cup, Hancock, and Tomichi all going up the rocky way. The 690 would not have been fun for me, Hancock was done in the pouring rain.

Now the high passes in Ouray I would love to do on the 690.

Hancock looking west,Tomichi pass is in the upper left.

Some roads were not even fun on the 400, note the gps still shows a road and this was at tree line

Tuff riding it looks like guys-----------------it's been a lot of years since I rode Tomichi----probably on a 1996 XR250-------I remember a bear walking out of an old mine when we were resting at the pass. I'll never forget that. I wouldn't have seen it---but a hunter was up there and pointed it out to us----heck---we could have walked in the mine----and got chased out.

Good Stuff---yeh---I don't like my 690 on stuff like that either Dennis.

We stopped on Tomichi right above timber line and took a pic back at Hancock. Just the reverse of your pic. From what we were hearing the four by fours and side by sides (we must have seen a hundred of them on tin cup, Saturday) are what's tearing up those passes. When we were out before We did Hancock, Schofield, Mosquito, and Tin Cup, they were in better shape. Lots more loose rock now.
I think this is Hancock, from Tomichi. I sure like riding out there. Luckily we didn't see anyone on Tomichi, there's a lot of places where it would be tough to squeeze by another vehicle.

If my bar ends weren't so mangled, and I didn't have deep gouges all over my side panels, and I didn't just have to get my radiator straightened out, and my shifter and brake pedals weren't all bent up, I'd say "I never drop mine". Ha.. I'm sure this'll be quoted some day when I have it listed in the flea market.

Question Sunday morning ride?

I'm free to ride tomorrow morning and plan to explore southwest of st. Gen.

I need to be to Festus at or before 1. I'll be down near 55 and Y around 8 to start meandering. I'll check this before the ride if anyone is interested in joining or being a tour guide. Gravel, double track, creeks...whatever.

I'm leaving west county at 7 and plan to slab down to the area 270 to 55 south.

Well, I think I'll be content to "never" ride Black Bear after watching that.
Have fun out there Bill. I know you will.

Black Bear is easy going down, I want to try it going up! I understand they allow that once a year?

It's easier and much less scarier than a railroad tressel re-railer
