hp tourer

Ive done 10,000 kms through europe on my hp2 and hope to do another trip next year of around 26,000kms. If u have never toured on the hp2 then you cant comment. The 1200 gs is fine for the hard top but a pig anywhere to off the track. Try riding all day and feeling a bit tired and then getting a little off balance, the hp2 is lighter thus more forgiving. Add to that its got a lot more get up and go.

Are you seriously trying to say the HP2 is a touring machine because its lighter than a GS? Hey, if you're touring 26,000kms on your HP2, good for you, but I can think a hundred bikes that I'd rather cover 26,000kms on, and I own an HP2! Throw in some dirt roads and it's a different matter. It's only 24,000miles around the circumference of world so you must be taking all the side roads

WHAT!? So your idea of a fun ride is to go in one direction... In a srtraight line... Around the world!!?? Now if you really want to ride dirt, buy a f@cken dirt bike! The HP2 is what? the bastard child of a GS and a KTM for egomaniacs??

He said he was doing 26,000kms in Europe alone, not the world, read the whole thread before posting

The HP2 is a very capable dirt bike, but you'd know that if you'd ridden one!

re Great Dane: it's seat from HP2 Megamoto

Are you somehow associated with a BMW dealership or the likes, since you got the Megamoto seat already? My local dealership says they can't order spares until the bike is released for sale here in sweden. Whereabouts are you from?
Did you buy the entire seat, or just did you just get the cover. And how much was it?

That's not a Targa. It's a 911s. I don't like Targa's either. I will admit, it is no modern Porsche but "kiss my ass".

I said "i hope to do another trip next year of 26,000 kms" i never said europe ya tard. Now listen up.....Im wanting to ride from London/sydney thats the trip. Re hp2. We like what we like, i dont think u can comment with knowledge if you've not tried. The hp2 with a screen and larger tank will be all i need. The hard panniers are a consideration. Most people travel on bmw's with the kitchen sinks etc. Its only after a few trips you come to realize that you need a couple of panniers max to acheive most trips. True the 12gs is a nice road going thing but i suspect my dirt adventures along the way will not be for 12gs. To many people coment on too much without any cred on this site. Get off your keyboard and try doing instead of yapping. No offence to those that do get out there
