If you're spending time on anything more than packed dirt, then I wouldn't trust the Wunderlich pannier racks with heavy panniers. They put all the weight on the rear frame -- and it's a race bike's frame. It wasn't meant to carry that much weight. Instead I'd go with the Holan or Touratech pannier racks, which have additional tubing to transfer the weight down to the footpegs, where the frame is much beefier.

Was a great positiv surprize but I kept the MM. If you buy an HP2E, get the SM wheels, lot of fun on road too.

Im currently looking at the HP2 at MaxBMW. I wish I could have all three HP2s! But if I could have any (now...), I want the HP2E. So yup, like Hotmama said, I shouldve just picked up an E to begin with.

BMW Justin, I couldn't agree more -the HP2E is such an excellent all-rounder that it's my main go to bike now. I even sold off my 17" mm wheels because the Karoo/tkc80's both work so well on pavement. Just buy a clean, low mileage one because you'll have it for a long time.
And check that Max BMW has done all warranty/recall items; rear main seal, paralever locator bolt, bash plate bushings & the possibly the new lower triple clamp/steertube/circlip update (expensive) if the vin is in the effected range. hp2enduro.com has all the details of recalls on these. |

Dang. I thought I had destroyed all of the evidence of this incident. :) I'll send some of my friends from Brooklyn to collect those...
