Well One thing is for sure, at least so far..

Sounds like the Famous Marketing Forcasting geniuses at BMW Miss the Mark big time.

Since half the bikes on the photos are set up as "Touring" machines and the other half as "Hyper Motards"

Anybody is Really ussing (not Possing) one of the Monsters for what is design for..

Pure Breath Dirt racing machine...!?!?

Ps: I have seeing some Impresive pictures from some members, but I can not remenber who they are.

Single front rotor enough for stoppies if you are so inclined
I have just done a 6 day 2500 mile trip with out any problems and in November did 1700 mile trip that included the baja over 11 days
so I think it is pretty road worthy
Good for you, Pir8te...an hp2 shot good and proper.

List or Cost http://www.bobsbmw.com/motorcycles/index.html#hp

It’s not every day that you get a chance to SAVE OVER $3000 on a brand new BMW motorcycle. But here it is. The astounding HP2 high-performance enduro, a bike whose glowing press reviews are eclipsed only by the top honors it has won in grueling competitions around the globe, can now be yours for a ridiculously affordable price!

* The HP2 pictured is equipped with optional Super Motard wheels & tires. We have three new HP2s available, stock numbers ZL10151, ZL10312, & ZL10313. We also have one additional HP2, a demo, which is available for test rides now and will be sold at even greater savings. All four are equipped with standard enduro-style wheels and knobby tires.

Bob's BMW is also offering Motard street wheels and tires as pictured here for $890 (installation additional) with every purchase of an HP-2. Motard wheels regularly sell for $1000! We have a limited stock so ACT NOW!

Pictures pointt that the HP2 is the closest kindred to the original R80 and a true modern interpretation of GS concept ( G/S, where G is for Gelände "offroad" in German motorcycle vocabulary and S for Strasse "street" in German).

A simple design ( relative I know to modern BMW' bike) no ABS, normal forks ... IMHO the fact that it can be raced just speaks to the flexibility of the design .
