I've run these on my HP2e for quite a while now, and crash-tested a set. Not a drop, but a slam-BANG-cartwheel on pavement that totaled the bike.

The Xhead that hit the pavement was destroyed but the valve cover, while scratched, was not cracked. And I mean it slammed the pavement hard.

The Xheads on my replacement bike have handled small drops in stride.

After two different sets of crash bars that simply bent after minor drops, I decided to go without the weight and difficulty of service. I've actually had a crash bar break the lower spark plug on one of the cylinders in a not-very-hard get-off.

If Xheads were to be improved in any way, I'd add more protection of the lower spark plug.

ymmv.

I like the guards. tight fit so they don't move / bend like the aluminum guards. I also had and got rid of a crash bar. Just didn't seem right on this bike.

Nice, light and not to loud. Also got it for $200 on the Leo Vince Outlet store

Falling in love with my bike...
Last week, with my friends, heading to the seaside...
Yesterday on nasty single tracks, inside woods, exploring new trails...
