Now I wanted to spend the weekend in a useful way and get to the gym to steel my body.

Instead I end up sitting in front of the pc reading your ride report... the whole weekend wasted!

Awfully good job.

While all pics are great, especially the last (from the film camera) are amazing. Those colours!
What filters did safran use? Which film? I had a hard time in Skandinavia getting any colour on film, I was using fuji superia and velvia 100 (which I love for itheir sharpness and extremely small grain).
Norway was not so much an issue, but especially in the swedish inland I could also have taken black and white pictures (which I ended up doing, eventually).
A polarizing filter helped a bit, but nonetheless one would have expected more...

Secondly, the lighting. Foreground as well as the mountains in the far background in all your pictures well lit. I tend to have the background underexposed, when relieing on the camera's indicator, and have seen the same effect with many other photographers too, even professionals.

I'd be higly grateful if the photographer shared his secrets with me.

Oh, and how I envy my little brother. He's in Irkutsk by now, leading (a student himself - it's his master programme!) an team of 25 russian girls (environmetal protection is women's business there apparently) doing research on water quality in lake Baikal.
This guy is so incredibly lucky. The greatest part of last year he spent in the Andes. How comes he does everything I would like to? That's so unfair!

Does he have a camera (and hidden cammeras;) - that could make a very interesting & educational movie;)

I told him to do a catalogue, so I can choose at home and then order by mail.

Of course he has a camera, but during his last trip he seemed to concentrate on the landscape. Gave some REALLY impressing shots grom the ecuadorian andes, though - not to bad, either.
