Simpson tech report

This is not so much as a ride report but more technical information on an unassisted trip onboard a KTM 950 across the Simpson.
There was more to the ride but I will start the route from the pink road house ,as this is the last pit stop, up to Dalhousie springs along the French line to Birdsville.

Dalhousie out I covered about 180km (the first 100 km is pretty straight road) with 4 falls in the sand dunes, the bike gets heavy at max weight.
The next day with some great advice from Paul Dandy and Peter Holt “ have a rest before you get tired” No falls 140km all sand, actual enjoyed the ride looked at the view. The last section was covered in half a day it was a real buzz.

Great info.. interesting about the fuel, I used about 70ltrs (little less) in my 2.7TD 4x4 from Mt Dare to Birdyville, guess the 4by must be "Floating" better than the bike and not reving hard ... interesting

Thanks Ads

10 days away (great days) could be a good idea to spend some "yes honey I do love the local market" days this weekend.

Terry,

Pubes grown back yet?

I suspected it was you north of Oodnadatta that I (we) all waved too. If I'd known for sure I wouldn't have bothered.

Monday last week I think.

I dont think so, were you on the bike because I was looking out for you guys and did not see any 990's. North of Oodnadatta I went up to Dalhousie.
No monday we went from Leigh creek turned left at Farina and headed south for the Stuart creek opal field. It was an interesting way (good call buy paul and some great nav work by Peter) as we had all done the Oodnadatta track many times before. We arrived at the Pink road house on the tuesday and kept going to Dalhousie

Pubes are fine but those balls just want drop.
