Iron butt to Dawson, then over the top.

First ride report.

Two of us decided to ride to Dawson City, then over the top of the world highway to Chicken AK, and then back to Alberta. But to add to the challenge, we wanted to try an IBA ride on the way up( 1500 miles to Dawson City).

So we added a little extra to the start of the ride to get the mileage right, and rode like @##&*#@'s for about 32 hours straight and got to Dawson City and got drunk.

Just under 5300 km's in 7 days (had some short days for hangovers and sightseeing, so there were a lot of big mileage days)

Here we are all shiny and ready to ride

We got to Dawson at about 2 in the afternoon, got a hotel, cleaned up and hit the town. Lost some money to Diamond Tooth Gert and drank way too much.
Did a little sight seeing the next day.

Went to Tok, fueled up, had a salmon bake and hit the road. Went to destruction Bay Yukon and set up camp.

Found a nice new TKC for the rear, at the good folks at the Honda dealer in Whitehorse (good people). Hit the town, drank and ate.

Headed for Skagway the next morning. It was a little chilly up on top. (note the nice knobby tire on the KLR)

Found out that a new TKC does not help you out in the soft sand when you hesitate and let off the throttle. There was a grizzly about one Km down the beach as we lifted the KLR up on to solid ground.

Found a mobile motorcycle museum in Carcross Yukon. Some neat old Beemers and some I have never heard of. We also ran into Friar Mike and GusGus (with better halves) at the ice cream stand, we had a good laugh and shook hands. (GusGus is not near the @!#&*% as he comes off on the forum

, I did not get shot, because he wasn't packing as we were in Canukistan)
