2nd UK Adventure Rider Rally - Yorkshire

Only two months ago we had the 1st UK Advrider Rally in Wales and because the event was such a success it didn't take long until the next gathering was planned. As the participants came from all over the country, the northern folks suggested holding the 2nd UK Advrider Rally in the Yorkshire Dales.

Unfortunately, we experienced severe weather conditions that weekend and 50% of the riders who had expressed an interest in the run-up to the meeting dropped out... Torrential downpours, flooded motorways and closed country roads made the journey to Yorkshire quite challenging.

But the brave ones who still made the effort to get up north had an absolutely brilliant time last weekend. Here's the report:

The Yorkies' Revenge

First I hope everyone made it home OK.
A Big Thank You to all those that made it under horrendous condition
Stevo and I arrived at Tan Hill at 9pm on Friday night after a wet and windy Ride up.

It was hell getting the tent up { wasn't it Stevo }
Then It was in to the bar for a few
before trying to find the tent's in the Fog

We received the Bad new's on Saturday morning of the even worst night the other's had had down in Sheffield
We then arrainged to meet Pummpy and GPS in Pately Bridge at Lunch.

It was then off to do some trail riding.
Sadlel the heavy rain had caused alot of damage to what was only the other week ....easy Lane's

After a few Lane's 3 of the Lad's { YorkyBoy...Carcher2k and Stevo }decided to part exchange their Bike's for a more suitable form of transport

The Lane's were a lot harder because of the weather, but It was a great day's off roading.

Big Sorry to those that had a few Off's and caued a bit of Damage to their Bike's

It was nice to meet you all and I hope we cross path's again soon.

Safe Fun Riding ..............Dazzer

Our brekfast table (Whats that Paul's got hold of), the fire in the background was very welcome on arriving cold and wet the previous night. Also a couple of pics of Basil on the first trail.

Great rideout and great pictures also, it was a shame about the weather but like you said "if you only travelled in fair weather in Yorkshire you'd never get to where you were going". I'm just sorry that I missed most of the offroad but nevermind there's allways next time.See ya'll soon I hope.

Fantastic pics, Dazzer & Stevo!

I arrived home safe and sound at 19:10 albeit slightly bored from the motorway journey - especially after the exciting routes and stunning views we enjoyed in the Dales and the Lake District.

A big thank you to Dazzer and Basil for organising the 'Yorkie Revenge', for showing us all these cracking lanes in your amazing countryside and everybody for your company.

It was an absolutely fantastic weekend in true Advrider spirit - considering all the adverse conditions it was definitely an experience we will tell our grandchildren about...

No pics from me tonight, sorry - after spreading my damp stuff around the house, pitching the tent in the garden (to dry out...), washing the bike (have to go to work tomorrow... ) telling Possu all about the weekend, being pampered with a gorgeous meal and force-fed with chocolate I am just too tired to post properly tonight...

Thank you again, can't wait for the next rally!
