Yes Virginia, Pumpkins Can Fly!
Mike and I installed a set of Pirelli MT21 DOT knobbies on his KTM 640 ADV this weekend, so we were both eager to get out for a trail ride, and see how the tires improved the off road handling of 'The Great Pumpkin'.
We called up our buddy Lorenzo to make it a trio, and decided to ride the most slippery and rocky trail we know. And we also wanted to see if Mike could make the big orange beast fly, so the Torbay trail was a natural choice, since it's close to the airport pit jump. We made two full circuits of the fairly slick and technical Torbay trail loop, and then headed down to the pit to play on the jump for awhile. We had a great workout, a hell of a lot of fun, and Mike only dropped the big beast once. There were no injuries or damage to the bikes, and Mike's new tires passed the test with flying colours (mostly orange). Thanks to Mike and Lorenzo for a fun afternoon of trail riding. Here's some snaps from our afternoon on the trails... Mike... ![]() Lorenzo... ![]() Geoff... ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()
