Some more fond memories...

This is a very cool thread. Got a few here to add to the collection.
Our daughter turned 10 last Nov. Last summer I took her along for what was supposed to be an overnight trip. It was raining so hard, we were not prepared (my bad), so after a looong day, we just headed back home. That was to be our first major outing and I was stoked. Well, I took her with me to Switzerland in Sept (I had a conference to attend and left her with some great friends) after some deliberation about "maybe she's too young". So, here she is in a small shop outside of Zurich in front of the F800S.

Following my conference (had to bike up to Belgium and back...woo hoo!), we headed back to Aarau to return the bike, but via Luzern. We were coming from the eastern part of Switz near Lichtenstein. A nice morning's ride and off the beaten path wherever I could. En route, we needed gas and, seeing this little café, decided to have a treat.

Luzern

Not much time to hang out in Luzern 'cuz the bike was due back in time for us to catch a train ride (hour and a half) back to friends. We have time for lunch. Here she is feeding some swans. As has been said, these memories are super! Had communicators, which makes a big diff. She still talks about the trip. Not as thrilled as I, but still a hit. Looking forward to more. Just ordered her some new gear. I told her when she turns 16 I'll get her a Daytona Orange R90S (she liked the one I had oh so briefly). She reminds me now and then.
Bonus is that my wife took the MSF course last year and afterwards declared she wanted her own bike! She picked out an 06 F650GS and loves it. Blessed? You betcha!

And Boy, too

Our 6-year old is getting ready. Bit too short yet for the pegs, but soon... Eager to have all four of us heading out together.
Neat shots and stories everyone! Thanks...

TSgt's wife is gonna be hard, LtCol's probably not. Each has one daughter, but I can't ride with them because one is in CO, and the other can ride with her dad. Please keep this thread going. I'd better hold on to what I've got for as long as I can!

Thanks dlrider for the story & pics. I miss Wilson Creek and all those epic spots around Linville. I have covered about every corner of that area either by foot (hiking) or by Mtn.biking and have spent many, many hours exploring it. Now that I live out here in Las Vegas, a green carpeted forest is something of memory and something I cant wait to get back to! It's great to see pictures of your daughter enjoying that area and spending REAL quality time with her dad! I think the world would be in much better shape if more dads & moms would put their kids on the back of a motorcycle and take them to magical places such as Wilson Creek. My four month old daughter has already ventured out into the desert with her "Pa" and Im already teaching her the difference between two strokes & four's and how motorcycles work. Great read!! Cheers

I always wondered what it would had been like to have kids. to share with them the good things and the right directions that I would lovingly point them towards. I have a couple of very close friends that have too raised their girls on m/c's and their relationships have been so enriched not only in trust and love for each other but also the very thought that 'dad's pretty cool after all'.
I'm sure that God had his reasons for providing the circumstances that have kept me single all my life, but at least he has given me good friends to ride with and this forum to help celebrate life with.
All you fathers out there I congratulate on being great dad's to your kids!

Father-Daughter Ride

Ginger and I getting ready to leave for a "just the two of us" ride. Ginger has been on several large group rides before. I think, however, that she feels more at ease when just the two of us go out for leisurely stroll.........These will truly be times to be remembered......Mark
