Back home! Kinda a dismal showing since I think a few did not show up that said they would, but good food and great company anyways!

Bugs were attrocious on the way home though. Had to stop twice to clean my shield so I could see!

That will give us time for digesting and drinking before the movies start when it get's dark...usually around 8:00pm.

I'll cover the food but would appreciate $10 towards beer/beverage. I can get a few kegs...what do you guys like?

I have a big outdoor fireplace we can burn all day and night if the weather is nice.

Let me know if you need floor space or tent space.

When: Oct 25-26th
Where: FemmeFatale's Casa
Agenda: 6:00pm Dinner
8:00pm Outdoor Movies
-Dual Sport Techniques
-Dirt Wise
9:00am Breakfast

Location: Send me a PM and I'll email my exact address and phone number. But roughly I'm in North Raleigh area off 540 at Creedmoor Road exit and go north for about 3 miles.

With the timing of this maybe we can call it our "Harvest Dinner"
Count me in. I wanna hug.

Unforeseen family obligations took me to Greensboro for most of the day. Sorry I missed it but my Dad appreciated my help.

Thanks for the calls Thump and Meanstrk.

Mini Ride report: Ken (vizla) and Anders go to dinner.

We gas up in Pittsboro. Ken says "You better hydrate or I'll kick your ass."

We stop after an hour or so at a general store. No really. Everything from ice cream in the front to bulk nails in little wooden drawers in the back. I'm there for GPS batteries, as I didn't bring any spares. Or any maps. So spares would be nice. It's called Floyd's, and as you can tell by the two old guys sitting in the rocking chairs out front, it's quite the hang out spot.

We came to a "Road Closed Ahead" sign. Ken says "Maybe we can ride through it." When we get there, he takes a pic of me standing in front of a 60 foot gap where they're putting in a bridge. Uh, yeah, we can't make that.

We get on some really nice dirt roads before we even get to Uwharrie. Everyone is in the forest taking a piss so no one is on the bikes.

Ken's thinking "Um, I've heard some of the stuff in Uwharrie is pretty tough."

Anders is thinking "I'm going to make this sign my bitch!"

We stop at a scenic lake. Sun shining in, ripples on the water...

...and a shirtless guy with a pair of plier stuck in his shorts.

Ken took this picture, and I'm sure he was thinking "Man my bike is still too clean!" A little while after this I look behind me and he's not there. I turn around thinking something must have happened but he shows up in 30 seconds and informs me that he had to double back because he missed a chance to roost through this big mud patch!

Ha! I'm serious about this hydration! No pictures till I'm all watered up!

Ok, now we're ready. Pliers-in-his-shorts guy is taking the pictures.

We finally get to dinner, an hour late. I decide to take a picture figuring it will be dark by the time we finish. My bike, and Ken's bike, are clearly dirty. Other pansies have clean bikes.

From left to right:
Ken (vizla), dvklr650, cplrooster, meanstreak, Anders Green (My head is much larger than everyone else's! )

We didn't make too much trouble, although we did laugh when the waitress asked us if we "wanted a box to take that with us". "Oh, right, where would you put it" as she remembered it was motorcycle folks.

A quick hour back on the slab (well, probably 30 minutes for the rooster and MS) and we got some gas at 64 and 55, and home a couple minutes after that. Ahhhh!

I'm sorry that I missed you all for dinner. I just couldn't clear obligations with sufficient alacrity.
