Huh, hadn't noticed - but considering what I will spend there for the family of four pigging out and stocking up leftovers for the next few days, the impact of the price of rice doesn't seem like much.

Yeah basically my point I guess ... it seemed a fortune for the family to eat there and then we look at the bill and it was like an extra $12 for 4 bowls of rice!

But, the food was VERY tasty. Just the first time we have ever been charged for rice -- which kinda seems like a staple when you eat asian?

That being said, I'm in for that place as I liked the food. It's just not a place we have been back to.

I'm game for that Friday or that Sat.

And just a thought, there is a really nice Chinese place in Raleigh on Capital Blvd just before the 401 split(coming from downtown Raleigh) that I can vouch that their back cooking area is clean and from what I saw, the spread is well stocked. I'll have to get back to everyone the name, but it is something like Oriental something or not.

Edit-It is Crystal Palace at 4011 Capital Blvd

I'm only guessing but I would bet you have never run a restaurant. Rice may seem cheap and therefore free but pennies can make or break a restaurant. And once you add in the cost of not only the dry rice but the heat to cook it, labour, equipment, water etc etc etc and and a couple hundred customers wanting free extra rice a week... poof there go any profits.

Besides my GSA cost the same as about twenty thousand bowls of rice and BMW has the gall to think I should pay my own gas! And don't even get me started on having to pay property tax and for water! Shouldn't that be free too?
