Do you remember me telling the story last night about people who would ask in hushed tones if I'd ever ridden with Mike? Remember Mike claiming he had calmed down?

Mike was not the instigator on this one, I was This is my old stomping grounds and I know many excellent roads out in that area, so I led for the day and ended up calling it short due to everyone being tired and still having 130 miles at LEAST to get home. Next time, we'll check out the ones I bypassed today!

I have to ask though, "Did I piss you off Rooster?" you kinda took off without saying anything.

Sweetfeed's bike, but some unknown reason, has decided to reject it's key and the key could not be turned in the switch no matter what we tried. Damndest thing I ever saw, since it was fine on the way there.

Luckily, Donna, my wife, drove the truck which happened to also have my ramp and I also happen to carry tie down straps in it all the time, so we loaded it up and her and Mike rode two up the rest of the day.

Pics to follow shortly....

Wee! More pics!

Beach house, road side.....

Beach side....

Beach view........

Yummy pancakes!

Mike and Sweetfeed on the beach.... Little did they know they would be so close the REST of the day too!

Wait.... I actually let this guy borrow one of my motorcycles for this trip? WTF was I thinking?

Mike was looking a bit "tweaked" at the house for a bit. He managed to et it out of his system and enjoy the ride somewhat!

Now, this is just sad........ I mean, it's a BMW ferChrissake, not a Harley.....

Which led to this........

I dunno.......

Meanstrk and aprilia.....

This is a common pose by Femme.....

Totals for the weekend after arriving home........

To everyone I met and that showed....... I had a great time and enjoyed meeting new faces and seeing familiar ones. The ride east was fantastic, and the ride back west just as much so, if a little tiring towards the end. Zombie_Stomp enjoyed the use of my DR and Mike's chaps as well, and I think we are all better for all the experiences!

Till next time!

Naw...I just figured I would let ya'll enjoy the rest of the ride. I had to be somewhere and I didn't want to impose on anyone's fun. I hope you had an enjoyable remainder of the ride.

All's good

I see I missed another nice dinner (breakfast). Damn! One of these days I need to make it to one. Well now that I bought my old XR back maybe I will get to ride with some of you FF's. Glad to see you had a safe trip.

Welcome back Chad. It's good to have your sorry arse back.

We will do another beach dinner in the fall this year, if no problems turn up.

Muchos gracias to CplRooster for picking the chow house and opening his beach house to us ADV'ers. I too had a great time meeting new people and seeing others I'd met before again! Riding and hanging out on the beach are not typical activities in Minneapolis during February - so this was a huge bonus! Glad to hear y'all made it home safely. Thanks again to a great group of folks for a fun ride, good food & camaraderie! Ahh, but it is time to go back to work....

Here are my pics....

Was great to see such a good turn out at the dinner!!

Meet a few new Advriders...Machew01 a.k.a. Michael is chowing down next to Sweetfeed a.k.a. Rachel..on her right

Yup...those are a HUGE plate of raw oysters Rachel is enjoying

Another new Advrider I meet was Jeepinbanditrider a.k.a. Josh...next to Rachel on the left:

Josh is a Marine...

The food was awesome:

cplrooster a.k.a. Tyler chose the location - The Sanitary Food Market on Emerald Isle, NC.

Here is Tyler trying to explain to our wonderful waitress what he wants...you can see from her face...he is a complex man...

cplrooster decided on the shrimp scampi

I think he liked it.....

Twice baked potato like you have never seen before

Everyone was enjoying the food....

And the Beer...

And the hush puppies....

And the conversation. Meanstreak's wife Donna is a treasure!

"Yes, Donna..you are telling us about how he has his junk in your trunk "

Oh...it was one of the moments....we laughed for a good 5 minutes....

We got the waitress to take a group advrider dinner pic. I think Ron and Donna are getting me back for the "his junk in your trunk comment"

This is a nice one too....

Time to gear up and head out...some of us are going back to Tyler's Beach House to crash...others stayed at local hotels...other's went back home.

jlnance a.k.a. Jim rode down with JD and I from Raleigh and road all the way back (a few hundred miles)...that same night...I'd call you crazy but I know you are just a super great guy who likes to wake up in his own bed...

Hmmm.....

Next stop...the parking lot.....
