How about bass lake-ish/ star lakes, Iron lakes, Red Top OHV's any or all routes off of beasore/sky ranch rd depending on how early of a start we get??

I gues I've been out of the loop lately. Craig Jones, fifth in the FIM World Supersport championship, passed away last week. He was seriously injured at Brands Hatch in early August. He was great to watch and reminded fo Nicky Hayden on the 990; always backin' it in. My prayers to his family.

Wish I could make it, but I have my son tonight. I know you just rode Star Lakes & that area just last weekend so If you want to ride a different area that is completely fine by me. Thats a new one to me. Looks interesting . Im sick as a dog right now... That would likely be something I would want for tomorrow.

HST: Tom (just called me this morning, new person) will be going along as well tomorrow morning. I think he is trucking it up the hill. I am sposed to meet him at Kings Canyon and Clovis McDonald's @ 1120 on my way home from work. XR400 or DR650 but I think he is going on the XR. Said he has been watchin the boards for a while but has not had a chance to catch us all for a ride.

If any of yall decide to go, drop in at McD's before 1130 (departure) and look for an XR or the 530.

Sat is out for me, isn't working out to ride- but just 1 more week till 'gangs all here' ride, cool.

Missed you all this aft'n, rode a coupla' hours trying out my 1st D606. I feel safe for the 1st time on the road (on the XR) but I sure gave up some in the dirt, the 606 is not exactly the michelin cross comp I just ate through. I guess all DS tires are a compromise and this one's ok. Boy the cooler weather @ elevation sure is nice for riding, come onnn FALL!-

Ya a little is lost offroad - big gains onroad. But if you air down (10 - 14 psi) the loss is less. I am at about 1400 miles and 50% in on my D606s. If yer not doing much road this might not be that of interest to you, but my maxxis tires did about 800 road miles before totally shot. That could get really expensive.

Now I know it's been beat to death, BUT...
The IRC GP1 wears like iron (compareatively) and grips like a road race tire on pavement. You give up some grip offroad. But if you get the shinko knock-offs from Rob (dsrider) they're cheap and worth it. Same characteristics as the IRC but less $ means I'm ordering a set this week for the 'Berg. Anyone thimks they are not up to snuff, call me next week and we can go for a ride and compare . In the meantime, the 606 is 'prolly my second favorite tire for d/s riding.

The '08 is quite a bit different - styling mostly but some engine mods. The most important thing is the wheels - they are actually sized from the 20th century and easier to get sticky rubber for.

GO ahead and ask but I'm on a shoestring budget right now for this thing... I keep breaking parts on the X !
