HST - About transportation for the Nov P2P ride - If it is a weekend I can go you are welcome to toss yer ride on my truck. I know I can get out the weekend of Nov 21st, most likely I can take off that Friday but I need to arrange it in advance a little if that weekend works. I know you had originally stated the weekend of Nov 28th-29th worked best for you though. Lemme know when you can, I will start beggin the domestic and occupational task masters.

Heya SteveLe5 - I need to procure some stone for my backyard project. I may want to buy from a wholesale place that does not do business with the gp. If you can buy with your contractors lic. let me know, I would be willing to kick down the % markup if reasonable. I sooooo do not understand how wholesale places work, seems odd to me. Money is money, I don't get why they are not willing to take mine over someone with a license.

yea tom we can make it happen. steve and I can work on your bike. I'll be there to make sure he doesn't throw any dr parts in the berg. between us all we can think of a way to get everyone there no problem.

however i know you've been wanting to do this point to point for a long time so I'd prefer if you did it at a time where you could enjoy it.

keep us updated!

JP, you think your kids big enough to ry out the PW 80?
Steve,

I think he is still a little short legged to get on that pw80, but if some of those training wheel type contraptions could be put on it easily, he sould be able to. Its definitely the right time to start him out.

Is it being used by anyone at your household at all? U selling?

JP

I had an xr600r stolen out at Ryndon. It's a big white dirtbike with a desert tank, red seat with "600r" in white letters, blue side panels, and a twist in the rear fender which is missing the taillight (or was when it was stolen).

So if anybody see's a motorcycle matching the description around here I would appreciate the heads up.

Yes, I did. No reply though. The fender thing is kinda hard to ignore. Would be cool if he got his bike back.

------

My better half is making eggrolls for Sat night.

The bad half will bring rum, if that's okay.

-------

I'm thinking of riding KC/Sequoia NP this weekend. Maybe do the Buck Rock Jeep Trail. Any takers?

I've had guests all week so I'm late on the report.

I'm glad you got home Matt, we made it home without any problems. Getting to Dove Springs was a little harder. Good thing nobody listens to me. I wanted everyone fed and fueled by the 11 oclock departure time so we wouldn't have to stop on the way down. Well, when I stopped in Weedpatch (east side of Bakersfield) so some of us could get food and fuel, I noticed that my Ford was pissing tranny fluid again, Great. Dwight talked me into checking out a local shop. It looked just like Mexico, but they got it fixed in a few hours. Good thing, because I had the stove. The rest of the crew would have been eating raw burgers all weekend if we didn't get there. Chip and Monti escorted us into camp and frozen burgers were on the menu. Quick change to bbq chicken sandwiches and beans and beer. Hmmmm. No fire, but lots of fun.
We rode all day Sat. I started off the day dropping into a downhill 35 seconds after leaving camp, I thought, not smart, you're cold, the bike is cold, your alone, so here we goooooo. I lived, no crash.
JP was fun to follow, that big bike of his swapping in the whoops and his death grip on the bars in the sand kept me entertained, he fell less times than I did though. My fall was all my fault, I was messing around with Monti and ran over his foot and rolled down a hill. That wasn't my only silly situation. I took off from a dead stop and darn near ran right into Matt. The rear spun, them hooked up pointed right at him, I actually laid the bike down and jumped off to avoid hitting him. Wierd.
Everyone rode well, newbies and oldsters alike. Chip was a menace on the 230. He was having a blast on it till it spit him off. Where you sore on Monday?
Dwight and Bill both rode DR400's, Matt was on a ATK. We all had a bit of trouble on a steep sandy downhill. All the bikes held together on the trail. We had a couple of minor repairs in camp, but nothing major.
Sat night we had pan fried burgers and more beans. No wonder it was so windy all weekend. Good dinner and a fire.
Other than a couple of truck issues it was a really good weekend. Good group. Too bad we were limited to store bought cookies.
