I'm out on the local riding this weekend, there's just not enough low elevation dirt around. Trucking over to the central coast mountains with a buddy for some riding on Saturday.

Renazco seat too! My dream bike !!

but in the mean time this will have to do for my needs

I have to settle for the smaller lc4 adventure...This is from OCT 2011 but since then she has been rode hard and put away wet..

Thanks to a man I have yet to meet or ride with my bike will have a new look for my entry for the 2014 Norra Mexican 1000 rally.

I want to thank Perry (pcvance) on this valley area thread for helping me with paint for my bike. Every little bit helps!

Thanks Perry

Mike

Mostly feeling guilty after pulling the whole "we should use this money to get out of debt not blow it on stupid crap" card on my wife to let me use the tax return to pay off the truck. Soooo, I'll save cash till mid/late summer and try to get at least $2000 more cash to put down.

What's the info on your 525? I might be interested in trading my 2004 400EXC. Plated, 220 hrs (~4000 miles), all the off-road armor. Runs great, I've just been wanting more power for the desert hill climbs.

A whole lot better than a DRZ400!

Agreed with what Perry said... The 400 is far inferior to the 650 as a road (50/50) bike. The suspension SUCKS on the 650, offroad. It is dead on for the road though IMHO. I love my 650 - stupid cheap to operate, and durable as shit. No radiator to break being air cooled, CV carb when tuned right does great in a broad range of elevations. I want the 990/950, but really the 650 makes an awesome daily driver. I toyed with the idea of keeping the 650 and getting a 950/990 but I think the Mrs would get pretty pissed.

I get 47 mpg outa the DR, like clockwork.

I was riding my 525 today, stock gearing 13/48, climbing steep hills in third gear. Just a little twist of the throttle would lift the front wheel and Keep it there.
Try that on a DRZ400.

maybe you guys are misunderstanding. I have a new job, cant get hurt til off probation. Ive got a KTM 300 as well for the dirt. The 525 isnt a good road bike, tried it and it just isnt comfortable.Had SM wheels, geared right, etc. Not comfortable in DV for multi day rides, etc. So, Im thinking of getting an around town, quick run to the hills bike. Ive ridden the 650 and the 400. Seems the 650 is a turd, but it wasnt my bike and not much time on it. I have ridden the 400 a little more and thot it was the right bike...but you guys seem to like the 650 better. Still a thinking thing for now. I'll let you all know if the 525 goes up for sale. 06 525EXC, AZ lic plate, all the good stuff.
