Today in the AM I dismounted one bead and removed the torn to shreds tube to see what was the matter. I managed to twist the tube yesterday and so it went ca-blam-o. Oddly the patch held. I didn't like that tube anyway cause it was a regular duty stocker. I went up to the cycle shop in Oakhurst where they searched without finding me a HD tube. Then Lonnie the owner said he had one at home. He went for it, I did another errand, and returned to find a new HD tube. Lick-ity split I installed it and now the chore is complete. I won the second round against the Pirelli. Now if it weren't so damn hot. Then again I have many road races to watch on the weekend.

Lonnie is a legend..he worked for Caroll Shelby back in the day..If you need anything they can usually have it within a day or two as well.. you guys here if you need anything moto related up here go to OAKHURST TIRE AND CYCLE !

Yeah, Juanita and I were up there today. The cabin tract is fine. Beyond the perimeter of the tract it's cooked. Some pockets of green here and there. Very near the Evergreen Lodge there is an area that was moonscape like with black remains of standing trees. The fire came within yards of the building in Buck Meadows. Along hwy 120 most of the damage is on the northside. But the southside also got hit hard.

I surely hope the fall and winter rains dont cause additional issues before the snow and freeze comes....Glad to here your stuff survived, I am watching from the internet and it seems like a HUGE track of burned area with luckily no major communities effected! Lucky!

I just wonder how much Dope was burned....early!!!! Bet they are pissed!!

If the rains are normal, which they haven't been for a few years now, I suspect there will be plenty of erosion on the canyon slopes. Creeks might also be choked with debris and black with ash. In the areas where we are likely to ride it will just be ugly, that's if the forest service opens the trails for us.

Sooo... how far in dijja ride swamp lake trail?

Good new 950 is back running again... 6 o-rings... Six lame o-rings caused me to spend $90 in fuel to get to and from work and parts.

Wanna ride this weekend but it ain't gonna happen. Keep the pictures coming... They're keeping me sane... Kinda :p

About 1 mile in on the top side. lol. We were just exploring the roads in the area of Brewer OHV and I had never been to the trailhead for Swamp. We just stopped at the pic spot for a short break.

Shuteye

Today I rode up to Shuteye with the Stewards of the Sierra National Forest. There was just two of us on two wheels everyone else on ATVs and a a couple of Jeep Cherokees. This was my first ride up that trail. It sure was a challenge for my skill level. You know, ever time a rider has to pick up his MC in the mountains it takes about 30 minutes of energy from your day. Needless to say I'm whipped.
