I agree there is a cost for performance, but let's be fair here. Monty's KTM experience isn't typical. I have 2 KTM's and though it took me a while, I now trust them as much as my beloved XR400. I think Perry has had the same experiance I'm having. They work, granted the oil changes are more labor intensive than the honda, but other than that I have no issues, just more power and less weight. Well the 950 is just more power, the weight is still there, but oh the power...

I think it's time for another Baja trip.

I was, but all of a sudden I've got more work than I can handle and it's all due by the end of October. When do you want to go?

It all depends on a few things! More than likely next year. But the person who I got a few details from will probably be game for sooner!

Got all pumped cause I thought I would be back riding the 530 soon...

AAAAAAAAAAaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaannd then I realised my rear axle was seized in place.

Git out the big hammer and the impact gun... It came out (thank what ever higher power/luck/chance you prefer). Back to the credit card abuse ... Next up new axle, rear bearings, spacers, etc etc etc... and some moron put the damn thing in dry... putz

Weeeellll... there were 16k miles on them bearings so they needed replacing anyhoo...

Anyone out for a big bike ride tomorrow. I need to get out of the cell for a bit.

Must have been an orange mechanic, not a red one. Got the old CS off with minimum (more) damage to the counter shaft , new one ordered along with new chain and rear sprocket. Should be up and about next weekend.

Good to hear you have parts coming and it didn't turn into one of those dreaded rebuilds that drag out forever.
