Probably need a chain slider before summer is over. Seems pretty clean, wont really know till I pound it over some rocks. Ordering the baja designs ds kit tonight. Oil cooler after the sting wears off.
Don't bother with the oil cooler, get the radiator fan instead.

Already has the fan. Good to hear on the oil cooler, that thing is ugly and expensive.

Great. Now us slow people have got no chance to keep up with you Scat. Before you know it, you'll be trailering your bike to nothing but the gnarly single track... It happens to all the orange guys. At least your wife will still ride with us, right?

Speaking of, when do you two begin your bi-weekly schedule? I think we're headed up to Hume this weekend, but I don't know when.

Shesaid and I were thinking about heading up. The Caltrans site doesn't mention 180 being seasonally closed... Thought We might give it a look. We were thinking something like this:

Map

Which looks pretty ambitious. But if 180 is closed, as I imagine it will be, you end up with THIS, which, come to think of it, is still a long day. But a good one...

What were you guys thinking?

950 down... sounds bad, like it dropped a valve or a box of rocks in one cylinder.

Who wants to help me load it into my truck to drag it to wilsons around 1600 tomorrow?

We are thinking as little pavement as possible and a good burger somewhere in the middle. He is out scouting for snow and ice today and tomorrow.

Anyone up for a ride on Sunday?

Chip expressed interest in riding his GS this weekend so we'll probably do a good sized dual sport loop, nothing technical, just street & forest rd type stuff.

Did you see what we were planning above? Obviously, you guys would be coming from a different direction, but 12S01 from the Kings up to 180 is unpaved, and we'll likely take Whitaker Forest rd from our direction. We usually get gas/meal/snack in Hume if anyone wants to meet up. In any case, we'll be out and about in that area, wave if you go by.
