The only way to conquer sand is to fight past the learning phase which is to keep on the gas, and steer with the rear, don't worry that the front is going bananas and keep loose, look ahead.

LA>BS>V has always been tempting every year.

A friend has a DR650 back on the market. Asking 3750. I don't remember the year but think it's a 2007. Call Chris at 559-285-3060.

They only have fireworks on saturdays at the lake. Fire rules of some sort I believe...

Thats why I was trying to get you and pete here to ride friday till the afternoon around whiskey/ 007 then fireworks and lake friday then do the Bald Mtn thing on saturday..

I will be riding up to shuteye friday early to see John the lookout then maybe out to cattle mtn to fish granite creek and THEN back down to bass lake to cruise on my buddys pontoon or to my father in laws place with a pool and a BBQ.

That's strange, are Saturdays less likely to catch fire?

Have a good ride Mike!

Shaver does things differently. They do the fireworks on the Sat closest to the fourth. Watching them from atop Bald Mountain is pretty cool. I'd recommend going at least once.

First, you get parked and ready:

Then you wait for the sun to go down:

You enjoy the view of the valley in the distance:

While waiting for all the boats to come out:

Then you watch the fireworks:

And then, when it's all over, even though you're about as far "away from it all" as you can be, you still have to wait for traffic leaving the show:

I went to the Shaver Lake fireworks show one year, I think it was 06', we were in a boat, it was a nice show from the water. Cool pics from atop Bald mountain Matt!
