Another trip this morning. There were some other ADVers there, but I managed to miss them all. Well, except for Sportymark, but he doesn't count because I rode with him.

An interesting BMW. Anyone know what it is?

A BMW with chrome. I didn't know that was allowed.

A sexy Itilian number

The Magnas were out in force this morning.

I don't know what it is. It appears to be a custom frame. Six carbs. One observer called it a "mechanics wet dream."

The british always make a good showing

Chick on a phone

Chick on a bike

I had to wait for her big-ass boyfriend to leave before I could get that shot.

For my Mom. For Helen. For Patty.

I must have just missed you, I got there before 9 and was gone by 10 or so.
The big Honda is a CBX.

Definitely a custom frame though.

Pretty sure that belt driven Beamer is the new F800, in the ST model, the new 'upsize' from the F650 Scarver..

Where is this place? The Google Map looks like it's North of Chapel Hill, but you say it's South?

Wifey and I got hitched down there at Fearrington House and I wouldn't mind going back fer a visit...

It's about a half mile from Fearringtong Village. Maybe not even that far. Drive north on 15/501 out of there, and it's the second stop light.

Thanks! That's easy. I'll post back here when I'm coming down...

Bump -

Went this morning...tried another route...got lost...again....

but made it in time to finally meet jlance for 5 minutes (and of course didn't bring my camera this time).

Third try is a charm...and I'll remember my camera next time too!

The bike selection wasn't up to snuff this morning. The only thing of particular note was this norton:

and the fact that there were four Buells there, which is 3 more than I usually see.

I've seen this X1 once before:

When people say tube fram Buell's had reliability problems, it's the X1 they are probably talking about.

Two Blasts were there this morning:

The one in the forward picture has Ohio plates. I've talked to the guy who owns it. He claims to live in neither Ohio or North Carolina. I think he travels a lot. :) The rear Blast belongs to Laura. Her husband, sportymark, is the guy on the side of the picture.

Finally this Suzuiki captured my attention:

What was lacking in bikes was made up for by all the people I saw. John (Gramps) was there. Janie and her husband with the matching MVs were there. Mark, Laura, and E rode in after a while, Femme showed up right as I was leaving, and I saw David from Motomark before I got there.

I left with Mark, Laura, & E. We had lunch at a mideastern delli in Chapel Hill. Then we turned around and rode back down 15/501 to 64, where I showed off this road I found last week. We ended up at the Jordan Lake dam, where we hung out at the visitors center for a while, trying to cool off.

It was a good day.

I was there this morning also on my KTM 950SM. Good range of bikes, with the vintage Norton being the standout (for me at least).

Always a nice bunch of people and generally a head turning bike or two.

Everybody feel free to say hello when you see me on the KTM!!
